Oh, and Health and Safety needs down grading, it should be more the responsibility of oneself, after all one generally does not walk across a busy main road without looking first, same goes for other situations, check out the risk before you do something

Cowboy - yeah BUT Greece doesn't collect tax to pay for cleaning. We do.

The problem here is cultural - WHY do the scum in this country think they should throw everything in the streets, parks, lakes, canals, floor etc?
Cats should be made to cover their **** or have nose rubbed in it (possibly the owner's?). Dog owners should have the animal confiscated if they do not clear the crap up. White van man should have fingers cut off for throwing stuff out of the window. Dear old Ron Dennis had the right idea. He insisted on all vehicles being hosed and wheels scrubbed on vehicles leaving the McLaren site when the HQ was built. He would not tolerate the cowboy builder image.
Mothers should be forced to get down on hands and knees to scrub the pavements outside schools if their kids chuck wrappers and cartons on the floor.
    Desperate measures required.

Cosicave - sounds like you left your heart in Sciathos - not San Francisco !!!!
(I have taken my missus over the Golden Gate into Sausalito to sit in a nice restaurant and watch the sun go down, and the lights come up on the city over the water. Wow! It is just fantastic.) Small taster of part of the view attached.

Mind you the girl in Sciathos, she sounds like a real beauty for you to relate the story (quite some years ago?).
If only we could have about 6 lives to follow up these possibilities?

Ernie: it sounds as if you're at least as romantic as me.

Bergy: there's something about San Francisco that I love. I've also been over to Sausi and watched the distant lights of a city full of people doing people things. Not quite certain what it is. Perhaps it's the sense that there is some real culture in California after all! - As for Skiathos, because I'd gone with my girlfriend, I could not manoeuvre the opportunity to take a few pictures of the beautiful girl. It is a great shame that she is only a fleeting memory as if existing in the best dream of my life.

I'll confess to almost phoning Skiathos this afternoon after reliving that vision. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the business or its proprietor; and for the life of me I cannot find the box he supplied me with, nor the receipt for the ring, both of which had the phone number. Ah well, perhaps it's for the best. Besides, it was about 18 years ago and she's bound to have married and is probably blissfully happy with kids running around…

Perhaps Barcelona might be a better idea. Once again, due to an accompanying friend (to whom I was unable to conceal my astonishment), I only have my mind's eye for the memory, but it was slightly more recent (2006ish).

Both of these girls are more beautiful than anyone I have ever seen on film or in pictures, and vastly more appealing than the rich and famous icons we're are familiar with. If only I could show you. But alas, I have pictures of neither.

Hey, what was this thread about again? I seem to have become distracted…

. mmm - I could relate a story about someone now in Santa Barbara - I am able to check and see she's still there. However I won't.

    Back to the thread?
Seems like Turd and son have to attend for questioning with the redhead who has stirred the passion in the old fool.

Yes, it seems we have the same vision Ernie. I also love Amalfi and have a longing to do a 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainence' trip to retrace my steps. I've not been there for far far too long.

And Lake Como? -Therein lies another romantic bed-time story…

Hahahahahahahaha… 'Mills and Boon' is yet another facet to this. An 'ex' made a point of reading every single one from cover to cover. - She had a whole damned bookcase devoted to the stuff…

Hahahaha, perhaps she did. What a disappointment I was eh?
Then again, how could anyone compare to such idealism… (That's my excuse anyway… ;))

Can't imagine anyone reading a collection of 'Thrills and swoon' but there's no accounting for taste.
I have the impression they are the sort of novel churned out to a formula, in 2 weeks flat and sold at the checkout in Tescos for 2 quid?

I think that's pretty much what she told me too! That was the bizarre thing: she knew they were trashy but just couldn't help herself. (I'm serious about the book-case incidentally!)

Yea man, heartening news, just maybe there will be some justice, I dont want to hang anyone, but for Christ sake, common sense and decency is not to much to expect is it, after all they are only newspapers vendors, telling silly stories about silly people.

Well Bergy, it appears we live a parallel lifestye, I remember Cernobbio it was about 2 Km up the road from where we stayed at Como

The hotel restaurant was superb, there were even diners arriving by flying boat courtesy of the Como Aero Club, it was a wonderful experience, fond memories indeed, I dont know about you, but I always feel all is right with the world when returning from such places.
