Why is it every time Joey B posts on any thread it degenerates into name-calling? Just ignore him people, he isn't worth it.

but he has a point

Not when he starts slagging off other people on the board he doesn't. It's one thing to disagree with someone, but to start belittling them because of his own supposed superiority is a different thing entirely. Yes, SaintsFan4Life made an unwise remark, but to take the piss to that extent was just like a playground bully, and some of you made it worse by joining in. I thought this was a site for grown-ups to talk about football, not for kids to call each other names.

I think you are being a little harsh there - SF4L does enough of his own mud slinging and appears man enough to get stick back.

I agree his comment was naive but i think bullying is a little over the top, and to say others joining in made it worse - who are you - the school prefect?

we are all entitled to an opinion and free to air them from his forum

I agree moderation and respect should be afforded but there is far worse on here usually than these comments last night.

Anyway - back to topic - Sam Hoskins isn't ready - none of the younger kids breaking through are ready yet - being around the first team, training with them etc will aid their development but throwing them in unnecessarily will harm their development - look at our stint in the Championship last time - we played kids - we all know what happened next

going back to the topic, i agree that Hoskins isn't ready for regular action - however, playing in the cup saturday will only aid his development. He has already made a sub appearence in the CC earlier this year, and being involved at Coventry will only aid his development - like it has aided Ward-Prowse and Reeves by being involved in the cup

I agree - blood them against Cov City - will help them and prevent any more injuries or suspensions. Personally - I would have 1 or 2 in the team with a couple more on the bench.

As for the league - i think we can all agree now this is not for saints!

Playing with the youngsters on the pitch is not for the league.

but on recent form...who knows!

I actually think they need to be broken in during league games. There will be games when we are two or three up with 20 minutes to go... start trying some of them and we'll see how they do.

Just think about Alan Shearer..... 17 year old apprentice and made his debut in the league against Arsenal ..... hat-trick. It can happen. Not suggesting we start them, but if they are as good as the academy coaches say they are, and they are strong enough, then we need to start blooding some of them.

i agree 100%, but problem is the 5subs ruling is affecting this - if we could still have 7 subs it is probably something that would have happened a lot more to Reeves, Doble, Hoskins and a few academy players

How often are we 2 or 3 up with twenty mins to go....we can dream I suppose.

Who is this impersonator? Give positive Fran back her identity. Beddy, quick there is an imposter!

Birmingham
Watford
Middlesborough
Leeds
Coventry
Peterborough

There's six this year off the top of my head and THERE WILL BE MORE!

Keep the faith.

I'm sorry but I want to win this league and depending on a unproven teenager to lead the line is not good enough. We need to splash the cash.

i never said we should rely on him - i think he should be used every now and again, you will only know if they're good enough if theyre given a chance here and there (at this moment in time, that is likely to be the cup) BUT if he is given a chance, and takes said chance it saves a bit of money doesnt it?
