Slightly worried if he thinks are squad is strong enough to last until May. A couple of injuries and would be in deep trouble.

I feel similarly, although I do wonder if Cortese is just being cautious right now.

Lets think - our First XI and bench (IMO)

Starting: Boruc; Clyne, Fonte, Forren, Shaw; Cork, Schneiderlin; Puncheon, Gaston, Lallana; Lambert.

Bench: K. Davis, Fox, Yoshida, S. Davis, Ward-Prowse, do Prado, Rodriguez.


That still leaves you with Gazzaniga/Richardson/Hooiveld/Chaplow/De Ridder/Chung/Mayuka outside the matchday squad.

Perhaps MP sees a chance to blood some of the youngsters ?

Not saying it's a good idea ( at this stage of the season ) , but perhaps the way he is thinking ?
 
I suppose everyone below the top 6 (and above 20th) could say they need more depth, it's a PL fact of life, particularly for promoted teams. We've got the 4th centre back and Boruc seems to have secured the jersey for now so that's the most important things sorted. Another attacking player would be great if the deal is there, if not I can hold on until Summer.

Provided we stay up, I imagine Pochettino will have somewhat of a clear-out in the summer.

Clears space for new players and increases depth over time.
 
If pochettino is being honest I think we have failed in this transfer window. Think Forren will be excellent and was a major piece we needed, still not enough, arguably needed another 2 maybe 3.

I'm still hoping in my heart of hearts that pochettino has put up a little smoke screen, he has admitted he was in for coutinho so he obviously thinks we could strengthen there so why stop looking, plenty of good wingers out there...also have to remember players are always more expensive in January and if he was to say in his last interview before deadline day "oh yes we are desperate for a couple" other teams will pick up on this and bump a probably already inflated asking price! He is being clever me thinks!
 
Come on he said the same thing when he first arrived. The only difference is now we know he was lying because he admits trying to sign Coutinho.

He's just covering himself in case we don't sign anyone, but I bet we're still trying.
