Posted on the Echo site about 30mins or so ago. Good News for him, not a Champ or even a Prem but could do a job for Bradford.

Good Luck to him.

In other news, Aaron Martin has been training with the first team since his return not quite in the Dickson etc mould.

That's great news for Dickson. Lets hope he has a successful loan spell at Bradford as we need to be sending players
out on loan spells but they need to be performing and representing the saints well. Nothing more embarrassing for both the player and the parent club if a player doesn't get played or perform well it can do more harm than good.

True, we don't even see traditional central midfielders with the way we play.

Tbh, there have been moments where I wondered whether Saints have resurrected Total Football. Yes, the players have their set positions, and can often be found in them, but it's not unusual to find them running into various corners of the pitch, and you think... how the **** did he get there..?

This season I've seen Luke Shaw in the opposition 6 yard box during open play, Rickie at RB, and not shortly after a corner either. It's entertaining stuff watching them roam.

Did the bbc predictor, have us with a far superior goal difference in 16th and Wigan on 41 points going into last game of the season with villa on 38. We are home to stoke with Wigan playing villa. So don't worry we will be safe before the last weekend.

Strange to say, but Dickson may struggle to get in the Bradford side. They currently have Meredith at LB who has been one of their top performers this season(unless he has picked up a knock or leaving)

You had Wigan on 41 and Villa on 38 before the last game? If they are in your bottom 4, then you've been too generous with the points gained. They is no way that two of the bottom four teams will be on 38 and 41 points with a game to play.

True 100% agree, but more often than not 17 year olds aren't ready for the PremierLeague. You get the odd exception (Shaw, Sterling etc) but it's not exactly common.

To be honest guys physical capability also comes into it. It is no good having a good football brain at 17 if you haven't got the physical qualites to go with it. You just have to wait until they fully develop (or well on their way) Like young shaw. He is still a tad light but he more than holds his own.

The thing I've probably been most impressed about with Shaw beyond just his composure is his strength, I expected him to be fast and technically sound but he has won the physical battle against everyone he's come against as far as I remember. Many times I can remember him wrestling possession back rather than actually tackling the player, that said obviously he is not exactly coming up against the biggest guys out wide so it is all relative.

I have to agree with that........however for experienced wingers or full backs they would be a tad ahead of him as to how to use their strength a bit better. So he still has to have some more than decent physical capabilities and still keep some speed, to counter them.

I see Martin's the new scapegoat and he hasn't even played yet! What is it about some people that they have to have someone to condemn?

Guly, De Ridder, Rodriguez, Boruc, now Martin; these guys apparently can't do anything right according to some people.

I never minded Martin when I saw him (ducks behind barricade)...perhaps I was lucky with my matches. However, Nigel didn't play him when he didn't have to, so I assume he hasn't lived up to early promise. Obviously not good enough for us in PL.

I don't know about that beddy, I think he's maybe surprised people with his strength and I've only seen him caught out once or twice, he seems extremely strong for his age. Without wishing to get all "creepy uncle", for a 17 year-old he's pretty stacked:

Most likely that I have been generous, but its whether I was unbiased. If anything I was harder on ourselves and it still has us safe, so good good.

Well to be fair, De Ridder can't do anything that is remotely useful to a footballer.

Shaw looks very strong to me for a 17 year old. Think this is (as wella as pure ability) why he has held his own. Handled Oxo pretty good.

Shaw said that Oxo was his favourite opponent because he knew him. Played excellently against Arsenal. Regarding his fitness...he couldn't finish a game at the beginning because of cramp, now, after just a few more games, he can play through. Looks a bit ahead of the average white lad in physical development.

There's a difference between being a scapegoat and just being ****. De Ridder and Martin are just ****. It's not scapegoating, I won't boo them when they come on, I won't ironically cheer when they do something well, they're just **** at football. Relatively, before some smart arse tries the "you're no better!" retort. (I probably edge out De Ridder)
