In other news, former Saints winger Eljero Elia scored the winner for Feyenoord in the Dutch Cup final.

That's Feyenoord's first trophy win since 2008.

Ronald was quick to congratulate on Twitter.

Really happy for him. Seemed like a good lad.

And by golly I wish we could have that Feyenoord strip.

I mentioned the other day about watching the Away matches involving Elia against ManU and Newcastle and, although he'd not played football for a few months when he came to us, he was very good in both. I can't deny I was a bit disappointed when we decided he was surplus to our requirements. He did the unusual and the special, and that's what Saints occasionally lack. Here's the only compilation video I can find involving his play:

Fantastic player for England and many clubs including us. Fondly remembered as England's midfield dynamo in '66. Great manager too, perhaps the one man who knew how to use Le Tiss in the best possible way.

My "like" things about Alan Ball:

1. The best one touch footballer EVER
2. We were the only team he managed that he didn't relegate :

Attending a business function of Jose and Ryan's on Wednesday night up at Canary Wharf.

I've been offered interview opportunities with both of them.

Anyone with any potentially interesting lines of enquiry, fire away...

I won't have long, though, so make 'em good.

(I've got some stuff drawn up, just making sure I'm not missing anything! :D)

I think you had probably let Fran fulfil her last ambition, eh? Let her have one question exclusively for Jose ;)
