We'll have to disagree then because i thought, along with a lot of people that he was awful. Great goal and great assist for Mane, but hold up play and touch awful.

The only thing I was trying to say is that I don't think he is player of the month.

As usual I disagree. I think his hold up and lay off play is often excellent. The way he can send a ball to a Saints player without them having to break stride is superb at times. The problem is, they have to be there to be passed to. Often they are not.

Also, isn't it strange how the pundits, his manager, and his international manager think he's great as well ? Still, what do they know. ;)

Time for him to step up over the next year or so. There is a likeness to Lallana, who scored his first league goal for Saints against WestBrom at this age... And didn't become a regular really until the following year.

Jake could well do the same thing if he finds himself in the first team squad over the summer, regularly in the match day squad in the first half of the season and then getting more involvement this time next year, ready to push on summer 17. Could do the same as Lallana, or disappear without a trace.

Morning mate! I've added a bit to that post now, commenting on the similarity in size, style and timing to Lallana. Could be very interesting two years coming up.

It would be brilliant if he got anywhere near as good as Lallana, but as you say an interesting time for the lad.
Fingers crossed he steps up....
