I think my suggestion might be a little more historic, and hence have the greater tradition. If not in football.

I know you're something of a whipper-snapper FLT, but decimalisation came in just a few years before you were born. Up until then, the term florin was often used for 2/- [shillings], or the two-bob bit.
Anyway, what the hell has mouthwash got to do with anything.? At least I can explain my suggestion.
