Just see how the season plays out for Ross and decide from there. He needs to stay injury free and improve his fitness/ability to play longer and consecutive games without the risk his body breaks down.

Saturday 28th February 2026. Football League Championship
Sheffield Wednesday FC v Southampton FC. 15:00

Referee: Gavin Ward,
Assistant Referee: Hugh Gilroy,
Assistant Referee: Matthew McGrath,
Fourth Official: Scott Oldham,

I just ordered the 50th anniversary fa cup jersey from DH Gate. It cost me $35 NZ including shipping (£15) I will let you all know how it is, when I get it.
I received my knock off shirt, including the Premier league sleeve logo! Lol
The sponsor isn't quite straight. The size is a good fit.

And it would be well above 2 points per game if he hadn't been probably understandably cautious being his first job with his team selection and subs before he switched to a back 4.
He is learning and will get better and he does make better decisions now, plus he has galvanised the squad superbly in the last couple of months.
He has got a very good squad (top3 imo) to work with now and it will be classed as failure if we don't make the play-offs from here.

And coming after the wreckage of the summer of 2014. Still can't get over him choosing the blue Scousers over us but his wages were the biggest factor.
Koeman’s real magic was attracting the quality of recruits we needed after the Pochettino exit and the carnage that followed. Tadic. Pelle, and VVD coming in made us a class side.

I think it would be classed as failure at the start of the season but if we miss out by a few points then I think it won’t be Tonda who is blamed.

If we get about 1.5 points from now til the end of the season then I think most would agree he’s earnt a chance at being the manager for the start of next season

Providing we don’t fall off a cliff, I am more than happy to have him for next year in th Championship. You just know that SR will do something clever and recruit his unborn child as one for the future though.

I think a lot depends how we do over the next 6 weeks.

I think it's notable during Tonda's run of 7 without a win 4 of those games were against the top 6 (plus another being Brum away) and we're about to have a similar run of games.

So I think this run of games will answer a lot of questions. Are we flat track bullies or genuinely one of the best sides in the league? Has Tonda's main success been improving the morale of a very good squad to be very good against lower sides or is he having a lot of success tactically?
