Lots of rumours on the Sheffield Wednesday forum that Rohl wanted to leave Wednesday for Saints when we approached them and is very unhappy at the way their owner has handled things. The fact the owner came out and said he hasn't spoken to Rohl in weeks suggests there may be some truth to this.

Maybe Rohl shouldn't have agreed to the 10m release clause or whatever it was.

From reading the Sheff Wed forum the large release clause applies only to PL teams. He probably thought that is unlikely and if it does happen them I'd clearly be doing something well anyway! That is apparently why Saints want to wait until we are officially relegated until we get him - it will be much cheaper as we will no longer be a PL team.

That was before the owner threw him under the bus with his comments at the fans forum last night. I've read the quotes posted on their forum and the fans genuinely think Rohl will just walk away. Their owner is a complete nutjob.

Which would explain the Juric appointment. Always likely to be a short term thing and at the same time, introduces the high press that Rohl likes to the players.

Wasn’t there something similar with Swansea when we appointed Martin? We approached him when technically we were still a PL team or something. Assume there is a “new season” date when the leagues are updated and until then you are technically still in the division of the previous season

A bit like RM at Swansea. So getting relegated is just a cunning plan to get a discount on the next manager. Going well so far.

When do we think we can expect Burnley ticket details? Not gonna be on TV so no reason to drag it out too long.

Bit of a crappy last minute move considering tv picks were announced pre-christmas.
