Wouldn’t surprise me if he feels hard done by tbh and that Cucurella has got him sent off.

Pinching, standing on calves/toes even grabbing hair/balls happens between attackers and defenders all the time to annoy the opposition/assert yourself.

Stephens was an idiot because Cucurella is exactly the sort of player who will get you sent off for doing it and in today’s game you aren’t going to get away with it if a player goes down. But it wouldn’t surprise me if Stephens feels that Cucurella was a **** for getting a fellow pro sent off or some other bullshit excuse for reacting like he did
I agree. For ages I've been an advocate of awarding a penalty/ red card for shirt pulling and sh*thousery in corner/free-kick situations it could stop it at a stroke but referees consistently ignore it. Will Stevens red card be the defining moment to end it? No of course not we'll see it continue this weekend. Stevens was in the wrong but he hardly swung Cucurella around by his hair it looked like a stupid tweak (and it was stupid) but Cucurella went down like a bag of sh*t. Players over reacting to relatively inocculous fouls are cheats. In this respect I can see that Stevens feels hard done by. Move on, if we expect an apology for each player's misdemeanours we'd have a catalogue of apologies each week. Stevens is no big miss.

Making an apology is showing an understanding of what you have done that has upset others.
It’s also shows that you may have the capacity to learn from your mistakes.
It’s common decency to apologise for wrongdoings, irrespective of whether or not it appeases everyone.
You might as well ask 'why does anyone apologise for anything ever?', if an apology in itself doesn't change anything.

But of course it does. For a start it would show the fans that the players/staff do actually consider us and respect us. Seeing as the fans are already pissed off with Russell Martin's sarcastic hand-clapping and arrogant interviews, it's not a great look for them to continuously ignore the fans. I'd go as far as saying it creates a divide between the fans and club. And this at a time when the club really needs to be getting the fans on board because protests and anti-Russ/SR songs are not far off. It might be a meaningless gesture to you, but a lot of fans would appreciate it.

As for the captain debate, I admit I was happy enough with Stephens being selected last season. But I'd say it needs to be handed over to someone else now because Stephens' behaviour has been shameful and he clearly isn't handling the pressure of Premier League football these days.
But it wouldn't mean anything. In the same way as taking the knee doesn't really mean anything. It is just PR crap.

Why are we talking as if he has done something awful? He got sent off a couple of times <laugh>

People pull shirts every week sure, but not hair. Pulling hair is violent conduct and rightly so. It very rarely happens because most players aren't that stupid with VAR around to spot everything.

VAR only seem to spot what we do to our opponents they seem to miss what our opponents do to us.

Ralph’s doing a job at Wolfsburg. Got them up in fifth.

Its interesting that he seems to be replicating the form streaks he had here, they had a poor initial start and then just started winning back to back.

I can't remember a time we were average under Ralph, it was either a huge losing streak or a huge winning streak.

Quality manager. He’d reached the end of his tether here but in hindsight we should have just fully backed him with dragans cash. The decisions since him leaving have been catastrophic.

Glad he’s doing well, but I thought he would tbh.

Let's be honest, Ralph with money would've been okay and he might've made it work better, but he still would have been lumbered with the dross that SR like to sign ...
