I guess it is that there are two away games in the south within four days that they are moaning about.

And perhaps to a lesser extent the choice of Thursday over Wednesday.
I am sure that their new owners can afford to put them up in some crappy 5 star complex, with all the necessary sports facilities to keep them ticking over for a few days.

This is an interesting question. Obviously assuming wage & contract lengths are the same, who would we want to keep on?

Personally I would go for Forster. He makes fewer big mistakes that lead to goals, is a good stop stopper and whilst his distribution is poor, it really seems to have improved lately.

Hopefully at 33 he is happy to be a back up keeper here.

It’s not that simple as we have supposedly chosen to keep McCarthy and given him a new contract after flip flopping between them at the end of last season. Don’t see us keeping both if we want a new number 1 in the summer, they’re on too much money.

McCarthy has a new contract so an extension for Forster would either mean keeping both or hoping someone will want to sign McCarthy

I’m not sure how confident I would be for the latter. Who both needs a goalkeeper and would pay a premier league (approx 50k a week) wage for McCarthy ? I expect he signed an extension as he was unable to leverage free agent status to secure a pay rise. But perhaps someone will simply match his terms. But then it would come down to location/how settled he is

Ideal scenario would be a club closer to london coming in for him but I’m not sure I see it
