I sometimes think that some people can't help criticising players at matches. They see someone try a flick or a manoeuvre that doesn't make it and criticise the move despite the fact the player is trying to make something happen. In another game another place they would be praising the same player if the move came off............So in other words they only praise success not seeing the game as others are seeing it...........

The yearly "leaked" fixtures list is doing the rounds(one year they might guess get it right)....,Chelsea at home opening game then.

Cutting it a wee bit fine then!
It's not great when that happens! <laugh>

It can be stressful enough trying to get everything ready for the website and the announcement, but the people I really feel sorry for are the graphic designers across the clubs who are keeping their eyes open and fuelling themselves on coffee while desperately trying to get everything on the screen and accurate in next to no time at all.

Especially if they sometimes get a 20 minute turnaround!

So, genuine Q here.

How is the criticism above ok (which I believe it is) different from day people sarcastically clapping when Fraser caught a ball.

I get confused about all this and therefore believe it’s in the mindset of the player.

Pelle would have heard the moans and groans about his flicks.

Just people got moaned at on here for moaning at Fraser, but not for doing similar at others.

Maybe we are all a bit strange.

I never moaned and groaned at the ground. Giving a player stick on the pitch won’t help their confidence

I think footballers are pandered to enough. I think people have the right to voice contentment and discontentment.

There are parts of all our jobs that we would rather not have to deal with, they are in the public gaze.

Yes people have the right. I just think it’s **** when they do.

Ah, a dig. Nice. <laugh>

Like your holier than thou comment wasn’t. Nice.

At no point did I dig, I suggested you maybe seem a certain way, superfan in this instance but didn’t say it was fact.

A little in the way you kept asking to Schad the other day, you overlook possible relevant part of what I have said to score an easy point. Well done you :emoticon-0148-yes:

I still don’t believe anyone never utters a negative word, moan or gasp when watching a game though.

Anyhow, we just signed a player and I apologise for having a different way of expressing emotions :emoticon-0139-bow:

I think that was the point being made earlier about people shouting at the player when he's on the field and heavily criticising him.
Do people really think that players will respond positively to that? From my own experience I would say no. Players know when they have made a mistake they really don't need people in the crowd to tell them. I would suggest we should encourage them to make up for their mistake and often they do. Shouting at players and calling them names during a game only has a negative impact.
I recently heard some calling Long a ****er when he came near to receive a throw in.......all because a few minutes earlier he didn't pass the ball to a player open in or near the box. He just didn't see the guy..........he had three opposition players around him at the time..........so yes it does happen and in my view totally unnecessary..........
