By bollox, do you mean you disagree with my opinion? This is just a difference of opinion, neither bollox nor not bollox.

My post above is how I feel. I know that I’d feel some guilt if I’d possibly contributed to someone being unwell.

Yeah I was going to PM you about the bollocks bit as it wasn’t necessary, and I do value your opinion even in the event I don’t agree with it. I did earlier point out to agree to disagree.

Shouting, cheering on, booing, it’s all part of the game, and many sports, right or wrong.

Regarding the Fraser Forster situation, which I enquired about the other day. I'm really sorry to read that FF has had several things happen to him, one of which has obviously been the straw which broke him, albeit temporarily. But it rings true to me.
Personally, I would like to think that we would always give people the benefit of the doubt. It might mean that we make mistakes in judgement sometimes but I'd rather do that than rush to condemnation.
FF was a great goalkeeper in Saints best time since coming back to the Premier League, and he hasn't become a bad goalkeeper overnight. He just drastically lost form. I knew his form had dipped after he had recovered from that bad knee injury [which seems like ages ago now], but having that mental injury is even worse for him. There were some others who were ready to ship him out almost from the start, but his great ability was never an accident. It can return. I hope he can get back the belief and self confidence and really challenge McCarthy and Gunn. There's a perfectly good numero uno goalkeeper there.

Been saying it for a while now about Forster ... such a huge shame.

Agree with what TSS said - there's a good GK in there, but it won't be with Saints.

But this is half the problem. This was meant to be the excuse last season. And if it was just an excuse last season, then fair enough. But, because of the complete paralysis during the summer and just caving in to letting Les and Hughes carry on, here we are again. It's the same excuse for this season. We're just tying ourselves over, season-to-season.

Once last season ended, we should've been planning long-term and deciding where we were going to next. Should have been mucking out and rebuilding.

Instead, and it's been reported since, Gao - who has still not said a word, nor indicated any kind of ambition - just decided to let things trundle along in the same way they were before. Because it was an easy life. It would've been more work to replace people and start putting a proper structure in place, uprooting some of the bad eggs (in the staff and the squad) and attempting to correct our errors.

Then, when the **** hit inevitably hit the fan once again this season, Ralph got sent out to say... erm, well I'm not sure what Ralph said. But that's what Ralph is good for. He's a human meatshield that talks in riddles.

Now we are once again going through the exact same situation - in the very next season - that the club governance said they would learn their lessons from and prevent happening again.

Lo and behold, we are here again.

But ultimately, what I'm getting at is that this kind of 'let's just focus on surviving' rhetoric is just time spent circling the plughole. See for example Swansea, see Aston Villa, see Stoke City.

PS - This isn't me having a go at you MLsfc, it's just me showing my frustration at how painfully inept this ownership is/has been to-date. Please don't take it personally at all! I'm actually a big fan of Hasenhüttl - good appointment, well done powers that be - and what he's trying to do but sooner or later things will come to a head with him here when he's finished dealing with the bullshit going on below him and becomes frustrated by the amount of bullshit above him. Unless things change, and so far the track record since August 2017 isn't exactly too encouraging.

PPS - Matt Le Tissier is a hero and deserves as many free tickets as he likes. The end. :)

Do you not think that the sackings of Reed and Hunter and the hiring of Hasenhüttl suggests a new start for the club behind the scenes? Genuine question. Seems like the most positive things to have happened for a while, albeit we haven’t brought in a fresh approach in to replace Reed, or sorted out our failing recruitment department.

Has anyone heard any rumours about the replacement of our Director of Football recently? The appointment of St Ralph has over shadowed everything else but it strange nothing appears to be happening

I was there for JWPs goal. Only mentioned it at the weekend to our lad.

Stephens made his debut for 5-10 minutes too that day.
