Based on a single appearance in the EPL, talk has begun on the international future of Obafemi. Has played for Ireland U19s (country of birth) but has Nigerian ancestry and could possibly qualify for England as he has lived here most of his life. Has taken part in training camps at St George's Park, but that's a long stretch to getting in the England team. Two issues for him....where his heart lies and also where he would get game time. I hope he chooses a European team....purely selfishly as it is a pain when players disappear for extended periods. However, early days.
How reliable is allnigiriasoccer.com and how reliable is its 'top source'?Apparently he has chosen Nigeria

I know what you mean but it is his place of birth so it must mean something to him. He's with Ireland at the moment so won't panic yet!Enoughpanics at the moment with SaintsI am not surprised that he hasn't chosen Ireland as he has neither been raised there nor has he got ethnic Irish as parents. You are often influenced by the loyalty of your parents....hence you get people born in Australia or South Africa for example choosing to play for England, Scotland etc. He has no real link with Ireland.
If he choses Ireland he has a far greater chanI saw a lot of that on twitter following the game. Irish sites saying he's Irish, Nigerians claiming he's Nigerian and his interview with a clear English accent.
Personally guess at Ireland. Can't imagine he'd choose Nigeria.
And we all need a massive chan.If he choses Ireland he has a far greater chan

Has there been any update on Austins injury? Usually when they keep quiet about it, it's bad and the player is out for a long time.
He got injured on the 23/12 and it was said at the time he would be out for 8 weeks,so going on that should be back by the start of March.
Would look a bit scary if he sat opposite to you in a tube.Hahaha, good lad.

His experience will be useful next season. We need to get some more of the older academy lads into the Championship especially when we are likely to be in it next yearGood write up on Gallaghers season.

The lad is doing really well with his loan moves, obviously not afraid of a relegation scrap either. Happy for him. Shame we don't need a tall, quick goalscoring striker who isnt afraid of a relegation scrap.
