Been away, so coming to this late, but regarding Cortese;
I was speaking with a friend who is fairly high up in a non-playing department at saints (admittedly this was in the summer and pre takeover completion), he was considering leaving the club because of the lack of direction that he felt had permeated all levels of the club.
He was quite nostalgic for the times under Cortese, whom he admitted was “a complete bastard to work for, but at least his vision for the club was very clear and everyone knew what they were working towards”.
Personally speaking, I am glad he was here and I am grateful for the path he set us on, but I don’t miss him. I think the current board have done/are doing a decent job and the trajectory that Cortese had us on was always going to be impossible to keep to.

Agree with your view. I think its easier to have a clear vision that everyone gets when you are -10pts at the botton of D1
Being top 10 EPL and trying to step up is damn difficult (and possibly not anything like as much fun)

MLT answering when Kris Kamara asked why did Saints go against their principles (!!) and not sell VVD to Liverpool.
The ignorance of pundits never ceases to amaze me, now Saints have their key players on long contracts and have the financial where with all to be self supporting so don't need massive injections of cash from selling our best players.
Kris Kamara is personality over intellect but don't think that will surprise anyone

If Fraser was perfect he wouldn't be here....fans forget that. He is a good keeper and a very successful one with a strong defence in front of him...luckily Saints usually have a good defence. The good defence keep the shots away from him and he saves the close ones that get through. All keepers let some goals in.

He was very good today. There's no one better in the league for close shots... but he definitely struggles with the long ones.

Many do to be fair. Schmeichel conceded a soft one yesterday and I thought Newcastle's keeper struggled with stoke's goal. Last week. Ben Foster let one in against Brighton last week that looked gettable.

I think it's deceiving for fans watching on television or from in the stands.

Steven Davis is Saints joint top scorer. Dusan Tadic has the highest shots on target percentage. Charlie Austin has scored a goal every 50 minutes he's played (and Gabbi has scored one too)
