Saw him post that on Instagram a few days ago, along with a clip of him sliding down that hill. I've said it before and i'll say it again, i really like how down to earth he is.

Not sure I ever heard Twatbeard say he loved it at Southampton. Other players said he loved it at Southampton, but not himself, IIRC.

I stand corrected, you're right, he did at one point when we were in the lower leagues, before Steven Gerard had a chance to tap him up. That was the one and only time, but it was quite a statement. By the time they were all England players and being interviewed together, with Rickie saying that Mr Southampton loved it at Saints, he was already on the turn.
No he said he was happy here while we were in PL too. Pretty sure it was half way through his last season.

Didn't he do a big spread in a paper with photos of him and his family at his home saying how he wanted to stay until he retired only to leave a few months later?
