Just the nature of the beast. We also made a 50m profit on a teenager who had never played a first-team game in his life, prior to signing for us.

and that isn't included in these figures. None of the huge player sales we generated in the summer are taken into account here, so it isn't quite as scary as it sounds.

It's a lot for managers...in one year, and particular the calibre of manager we're talking about here...
I know we've made a lot of money in the summer from player sales shortly after these accounts so not a comment on the wider finances.

Regardless of the sale of playig staff in the summer, it would have dented the cash flow. I think that Sports Republic seem to have grown into managing the club sensibly this season. The figures reported today demonstrate how they initially failed to get it right.

It is still a staggering way to rub a business , especially with no guarantee of promotion. It will be interesting to see what happens if we do not get promotion and whether we will have to cut the cloth accordingly. I feel that we will be forced to sell our better players to balance the books bit still anticipate that we will do good business in the loan market.

Suggests to me that we need another season in The Championship to balance the books as we won’t be able to buy/pay a competitive EPL team within FFP rules

EDIT: I'd be interested to know if someone has a different theory

Friday 8th March 2024 - 9:30am – 2023/24 Season Ticket Holders who have attended 8+ away matches in the 23/24 season

Monday 11th March 2024 - 9:30am – 2023/24 Season Ticket Holders who have attended 7+ away matches in the 23/24 season

Was just coming to mention this. Starting at 10 is a lot higher than expected which makes me nervous :emoticon-0107-sweat

Hopefully some will sack it off with it being on TV and a late KO on a school night.
