Anyone got a coach to Manchester game before? How long does it take returning roughly?

Or even better anyone driving to City in a few weeks and want to split costs?
Did the coach to Liverpool away semi-final last year, so probably fairly similar - we left Fleming Park about 11:15am, and got to Liverpool about 6:30pm, back at about 3-3:30am I think.

I note that a few fans are calling for Sam Allardyce as manager....dear God, no! This request alone is enough to tell me that fans should never, ever be involved in running a club. The words inmates and asylum spring to mind. Not that he can't manage a football club, but he certainly isn't the manager for Saints....he's more the nuclear option when all else has failed. I'm not happy with how things are going either, but the obituaries written by some fans are a bit premature.
Desperate times for desperate measures! And l do not agree with Big Sam as a step forward; but l do understand the sentiment if not the content. Totally dismayed with The Board; they were onto something so good a few years ago and have totally ****ed it up over the last three seasons. NC was a prick to alot of fans but he was the ideal behind the plan that worked so well. I agree he had to go but since then the drive to plan and succeed has not been followed up. For me, it feels we have slowly but surely lost our way because we do not have the equivalent of an NC at the helm. To reiterate not him but someone with his direction.

I'm wondering if it isn't that we've lost our way, but more that it is hard to keep finding gems. Our players are good, but we haven't got the game changers. Gabbi is a different player to Pelle and Lambert.....you can't expect him to create and hold up play. Tadic needs to supply a big man up front....and he has deteriorated, probably because he is a moody player....success makes him better. I don't think we need to throw the baby out with the bathwater...we are only one or two players from being a good side.....then Mauricio would appear miraculously to be good manager. And can I put in a little request for luck....we could play exactly like we did last Saturday and win on another day. One of you has upset the gods.o_O

3.30 <yikes>

Probably not great with a 7am start next day then!

Yeah man it's like 4-5 hour journey in a coach, and you have to wait to leave after the game etc. I had to take the morning after off work.

Yeah I might see if I can swap my shift for a 2-10 if not think I'll have to leave it.

I'm with you on this LL.

However, it is not 100% straight forward. I do not believe that he should be ANYWHERE near kids, but is a criminal record or a spent conviction enough to get the club to rescind a ticket?

Genuine question as I think that if there is a chance he is near kids he should be banned from that situation.

Agree it's not straightforward which is why I'm wondering what rights the club would have if they were made aware. Obviously the police wouldn't know every convicted *****phile with a st which is a worrying thought in itself but in a case that they do, should they tell the club? I think they should personally.

As for spent, I'm not sure a child sex abuse/ pornography conviction would ever be spent if time is served for it. I'd like to think the club would have the rights to act in that situation though whether they would or not is a different matter. I genuinely don't know if they would either on both counts.

Either way, it's an uncomfortable story and I can only imagine what the families who had pictures taken with him are feeling now.

Normally, I don't think things are black and white - in this case my personal opinion is that it is.

However, I know someone who when they were 19 (30 years ago) somehow ended up on the sex offenders register for 5 years. What I will say is that it could have gone two ways, but a conviction it was. He was 18 and two months, his girlfriend 15 years and 11 months at the time of the consensual act...yes I know she wasn't 16, so couldn't consent etc, however, how many on here have daughters that have had experiences before 16. I don't want to open that can of worms, but he married her and is still married to her today and they have 3 kids of their own. If the club had a rule that anyone convicted of offences couldn't have a ST then that would be unfair. HOWEVER, I strongly believe if you are still on the sexual offenders register for whatever reason, yes, the club should be able to withhold a ticket. My acquaintance is the exception not the norm and the whole reason there is a register is to keep kids and women safe from risky situations.

Tricky subject though...

Precisely and the answer is surely no for anybody. Which is why I'm curious about the clubs knowledge/rights.

The police only have to provide information to the guardian of a specific child who could be at risk to an individual. Obviously employers have CRB checks.

So in short the club can’t do anything about who comes to the games, especially when you don’t have to provide ID when purchasing a ticket.

Whilst this incident is uncomfortable, I do think the imagination can run away with itself. After all this is a full stadium, with police, stewards and no doubt kids with a responsible guardian.
