Gabby would have knocked in the rebound! That Lineker was useless!

Ashamed to admit that for several nights I dreamt that Gary had slid in the rebound and we'd gone on to win the Cup. This dream was repeated in '96 when somehow Gazza didn't reach a low cross in injury time.

Pathetic, isn't it.

But mate. '84 does always trump the others. I was with a bunch of Evertonians and we were gathering our stuff to leave and planning our trip to West Brom for the replay when the bugger* scored.

Pedant alert! I think the replay was going to be at Stoke's old ground... Victoria Road?

The Gazza one haunts me too. A stud's width away from a golden goal, then there is the Shearer golden goal disallowed against Argentina in 98 and Sol Campbell or John Terry against Portugal.

You are right though, '84 is the top trump.

Yes, OK. You're probably right. I was with a group of Evertonians, so my memory of that fatal moment is a little mashed. Fact is there wasn't a replay and Everton went on to play a **** Watford side in the Final

But anyway, for adding to the field of pedantry you are hereby awarded lifetime membership of the "Who Gives A ****" society! :emoticon-0137-clapp

If they set it 30 years into the future [Saints having dominated football ever since], you can play a [slightly] overweight Charlie Austin, looking back wistfully at those early days. I shall have a small cameo as Grazianio.! <laugh>

I was just wondering whether Jose gets to be the 'present day' manager, in the film set 30 years into the future. After all, he said only last year that he'd love to be Saints manager in the future. Got a slight feeling that he's blown it though. ;)

My heart has been broken....there will never be another.

Though I may have to look at who we bring in during the summer.....perhaps my desires should be fed into the black box.
