Same. Post match was hard enough - dont want to go through all that again. Don't get me wrong; great day & we played fantastic but so, soo unlucky. So unfair.
Nor me - I recorded the Channel 5 programme that night but it's still on my Freeview box and I keep flicking past it. Might just fast forward to our 3 goals then delete it...
Never have I carried so much regret over a result. It is a truly haunting watch of what might, no what should have been, That stupid linesman, Oriols header against the woodwork, its just a painful ride of emotions. Still see this season as progress, but history was stolen from us that day.
FA Cup semi-final 1984 .. beat ya! But yes, I still feel it. Met up with an old mate who supports Forest today and it was the one thing he wanted to talk about. Of course fans of other teams talk of how well we played, how unlucky we were etc etc. But they didn't feel the pain of that winner. And if they support a "big club" that takes getting to Finals for granted they don't get just how significant it all was. In '84 we all said "come on, next season ..." then the wheels came off! Please not this time. I will be buzzing if that team, plus Virgil, take us into next season. And Claude, of course.
You've all convinced me. I have deleted the match so can't watch it again and suffer the heartbreak. To be honest I'm not sure I would ever have been ready for it. I still have the second leg of the semi final and Watford to watch for when I need some footie. Oh, and of course, the win against Spurs will be good to watch again........
https://www.clubcall.com/southampton/harts-link-to-saints-makes-sense-for-agent-1845468.html Forster shares the same agent as Hart, so suggestion that a double move would suit the agent. However, we are not in the business of pleasing agents....except indirectly.
Does anyone truly think we have a chance of signing Joe Hart? Seriously. Even if we didn't have Englands no2, we'd be pretty far down the pecking order.
Can't see us even trying. We have Forster....would we lay out extra money to land Hart. I don't think the club feel as bad about Fraser as some fans do.
Because they know what lies behind the drop off in form. Fans abusing him has done him a power of good, I'm sure
I like FF. I really want to see him excel with us. But, there's two things than concern me. His wage, our top earner if you believe some sources. The next reason maybe a tad harsh, he's not actually as good as his early saints career says. Our very clever midfield and settled defence didn't give much away, he'd mostly save the few longer range stuff that got through. He can certainly do better than what we have witnessed this season, but he isn't a great keeper, sadly. (sorry Frase if you are reading this on your birthday..........ouch)
I don't have quite the issue with Fraser as you possibly have, but I pointed out a while ago that some measure of his form must be attributed to the quality of the defence at the time. In general, I believe our defence, whilst not impenetrable, was keep the opposition down to lower quality shots which were easier to save. Since the upheavals with Fonte, the defence has had to readjust, and it has been slightly poorer for it, allowing higher quality - harder to save shots through. But that's starting to improve too. There's no doubt though that FF was saving incredible shots a season or so ago that he isn't saving at the moment.
10 years ago today.... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/15..._It_s_exactly_10_years_since_it_was_unveiled/ Who remembers that?
I decided not to open that article as I didn't want to find out if it is actually possible to die of embarrassment.
I think Fraser is an exemplary professional, that's something absolutely in the plus column. I just hope whatever the mysterious issue is, it clears up at worst over the summer.
Actually, I have a non-Saints moment that haunts me like he '84 semi final... Chris Waddle striking the inside of the post in extra time against the Germans in 1990. I swear that defies the laws of physics when it bounces out and not in.
