Where we finish has no bearing on Morgan staying.

Whats that basketball comedy where they kidnap the player?
Is this what it has to come down too?

Even if we get into the Champs League Morgan is 99% gone. Where we finish does not matter. Only way we keep Morgan is as I said before:
1: Not a big enough team (in his eyes) bids for him.
    2: No bids come in.

    Or

    3. Koeman drugs him. Morgan says he loves Southampton too much to leave.

I was worried last summer but the club proved they are more than capable of replacing and even improving on those that leave. I dont worry at all now, if morgan leaves he leaves and he will be replaced. Very releaxed about it all.

If we get Champion's league then we don't need Morgan. We would be able to bring in a couple of top players to replace him. We don't need so many awesome defensively minded mids. What we need is an awesome attacking midfielder. Keep Vic and Harry and bring in someone to help us carve out the chances. It's not like we suddenly looked defensively weak during Morgan's injuries.

Same here. I've realised myself that my attitude has changed towards certain current players, and Morgan is one of them. My attitude is now along the lines of preferring him to stay, but if he wishes to leave then goodbye. End of. No drama. I don't think my attitude would change if he decided to stick around for another couple of seasons either. My cynicism is growing by the day and I'm getting more comfortable with it.

By the way, next month I am going to Colmar for three days with work. Colmar is the next town to where Morgan is from.

I'll email him and ask him if he wants me to bring him something back. Anyone got his email address? :)

I like Colmar and Strasbourg but like Nancy best of all. They are all places best visited in the winter. Colmar reminded me of those illustrations in the Brothers Grimm fairy tale books you had as a child. All I remember is my ears being cold all of the time. I struggled with their wine as I am not that fond of white wine. I did however enjoy the Glühwein and the onion soup.

This will be my first visit and I am looking forward to it. The pictures look beautiful and I see what you mean about the Grimm fairy tales. I'll be there the few days after Easter Monday, so hopefully it will be pleasant enough to spend some evening time having a wander round.

I'm with a predominantly French team, so I'm sure they'll be pulling out some decent red as well.

I'll look forward to the onion soup!!

Like others on here, I don't think money is the main motivator for Morgan. He wants to play at the highest level and that's fair enough. That said, if the pennies do come into the equation, it's worth reminding ourselves that Arsenal are not up there with the biggest spenders. Their salary bill is huge due to the size of their squad not necessarily the size of their pay-packets. Arteta took quite a drop in salary to move there from Everton so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that we could offer more than Wenger is prepared to pay.

If you think with out Osvaldo, Ramirez our top wage is around 40k. Arsenal's is probably add 140k to that.

I seriously doubt that Arsenal are paying anyone £9.3Mpa. Granted they pay more than us. Of course they do, but we could compete with a one off as Wenger likes to keep a salary structure in place. That's why Arteta had to take a hit as he was already earning more than anyone at Arsenal (£75kpw IIRC).
