Lovren is **** too isn't he. :p

**** off :P completely different anyway. Lovren was super **** for Lyon in his last 18 months or so. I really like Banega, but players like him are often risks anyway, especially with his reported attitude and work rate issues and inconsistent performances for Valencia as it is. If this was last summer I'd be super excited but the Ramirez deal (and other things) have taught me not to expect every deal to work out - especially one with such bust potential as Banega. That said, it's not like Damiao who I straight up don't want - I do want Banega, I'm just tempering my expectations!

We no longer take loans (possible exception for option to buy).

Since when? Hooiveld was a loan with no option to buy (though we bought him in the end anyway), Falqué was a loan with no option to buy.

Say we were offered a loan of a player like Lukaku, would you turn that down? Not that I think it's likely, but I wouldn't ever say never.

If the right player becomes available to provide us with added quality/depth I'm pretty sure we will do business. De Bruyne is the only one I can think of who will definately be available and fits the bill in terms of quality/positions we need, Naughton maybe another although Spurs may be reluctant. (This statagy makes even more sense if the management think that Targett, Rowe, Sinclair, Isgrove etc can challange for a first team spot next season but are not yet ready).

At the end of the day if it's worth a few points/league positions then it's business worth doing.

In the press conference today, Mauricio was asked about Gaston, Dani and Jose leaving. Seemed surprised and said (with a smile) it was good to find out about losing his players via the media.

His eyes were nearly popping out of his head in surprise as the journalists read out the rumours in English(Don't give the game away Mauricio). I'm surprised he didn't burst out loud laughing at the Fonte to Besiktas one.

One thing is for sure in January and in the summer we're going to hear more about players going out than coming in. We will have to batten down the hatches.

For the record, this was Mauricio's reaction when asked about Jose Fonte to Besiktas...

Yeah we've had loads of bug reports in the last week or so. Not sure why, if it's broken try turning it off and on again. :cheesy:
