Not sure I'll be taking much moral guidance from this guy either...seems like a terrible 'bully'.

Boro lost the semifinal and final. Won’t want reminding of that.
Jumping on this, but how long will the FA review take? Is there a time limit or can they wait until the day before the the first game of the season before deciding? Because that doesn't seem fair, either.

I don’t agree. We needed to control the narrative and set out what we will and won’t accept.
However antagonised the FA may or may not be form this, they now know that our position is in the public domain, that we have already been harshly treated and they can expect a massive backlash from Saints if they add to the punishment significantly.
Action against Tonda is now clearly further action against the club. That was previously unclear.

It depends on a few things:
1. They might not feel we’ve been harshly treated, they might feel that we’ve been justly treated
2. They might use the Olympic precedent where the coaches got banned as their rationale for imposing bans
3. Their investigation may uncover more evidence of spying in other games. Dragan says in his statement that it’s only 3 games, it wasn’t a universal thing (or words to that affect). If it turns out there is evidence we’ve done it for 5/10 games then banning Tonda might become the only option, plus further points deduction from the EFL with the precedent they set from the -4
I think publicly backing him like this was moronic and typical of how they’ve handled this whole thing. It’s just reopened the media hate campaign when it didn’t need to be right now. They could’ve easily waited (if DTLW timeframe of “before July” is accurate) until the FA had done their investigation, then if he wasn’t banned back him and take the backlash then with the justification that the FA didn’t think the offence was worthy of a ban, if he does get banned then sack and move on.
The more I think about it the only reason I can see why they’ve made the announcement now is to appease the fanbase before season ticket announcement. Then when Tonda gets banned then can say “well we said we would’ve backed him but we can’t now”
If, god forbid, The FA want to swing the already-bloodied sword of justice at us and ban Tonda, was thinking we could hire this promising young Spanish coach Toni Bacardi on the interim.
