The original Rule 127
127.1 Without prejudice to the requirements of Regulation 3.4 (that each Club shall behave towards each
other Club with the utmost good faith), no Club shall directly or indirectly observe (or attempt to
observe) another Club’s training session in the period of 72 hours prior to any match scheduled to be
played between those respective Clubs
The -3 Point has been added in our case Using Rule 3.4 as a trigger.

You said the point deduction wasn't given for breach of 127 but the judgement literally states that the logic for deciding the 3 point is that it makes breaching 127 not worthwhile - you'll lose the same as what you can gain.

It's good that we can debate the rights and wrongs, but isn't making me feel better about it, it feels wrong and its futile to protest.

Not what I meant, just that the Rule 3.4 is used as an extension to decide the punishment as 127 has no proscribed sentence to use.

You think that is justified as a means to an end? I don't. I think it is unsporting to coin a phrase.

So we're back to my previous question, you don't think sporting sanctions are ever justified because it impacts the fans?

I'm saying it's the reality of the situation. I do think sporting sanctions are a more effective deterrent than financial ones, whether I agree with this particular case or not.

I think the problem lies in this being the first time the rule was breached so it was all completely up in the air. There being no listed punishment as you mentioned earlier just compounds that problem.

You are putting words in to my mouth, that I haven't said. I repeat, the punishment must fit the crime and must punish the guilty, not harming people who haven't been responsible, guilty by association isn't the way to go. Are you saying fines don't do that?

I said that any sporting sanction impacts the fans who weren't responsible and you said you didn't feel that was justified? Seemed pretty clear to me.

I'm saying fines don't act as an effective deterrent if the football club can easily afford it, so in that sense sporting sanctions act as a better one, whether I agree with this particular case or not.

For example you can be pretty certain that nobody will risk breaching this rule in the play offs next season!

They will find plenty of other ways to get around the current Rules and I bet no one bats an eyelid, it will be cheating, but not as we know it.

Well the deterrent exists now. Going forward EFL clubs will know the punishment is 3 point deduction for a league game or expulsion for a knockout one.

Agree about punishment not being defined beforehand though which is a big part of why this has been such a mess. Sadly that seems quite common with football rules though.
It won't happen the same next time. A team will have different aspects to their case, alongside having a more influential owner, and the court of public opinion will have reflected over time on this being way too harsh, and the EFL will be more forgiving. The ruling will continue to be undefined, allowing the EFL to use whatever measures it wants to, on a case by case basis.

Ironically, I haven't yet!

Update on Play-Off Final refunds

Refunds for tickets, including booking fees, have begun being processed, with some already reaching supporters accounts.
Payments are currently being processed. Due to the volume and processing requirements, all payments are expected to be completed by Monday 8th June.
We kindly ask that supporters do not contact us regarding refunds until after Tuesday 9th June, or until any pending payments have been received.

Please note that some refunds may be processed as split or multiple transactions, although the total amount will match the original payment. Ticket and travel costs may also be refunded separately.
Supporters who amended their seat locations or age bands after their initial purchase may automatically receive a refund for the ticket value only. The Ticket Office will contact these individuals separately regarding any applicable booking fee refunds.

Parsons apparently on leave this week.

Call me a **** but that should have been cancelled.

I doubt he’s the only one. Last week and this week the logical time for the non playing staff to book holidays. They need to come back earlier than the players do to sort the squad out for next season. I imagine most of them booked holidays weeks/months ago

Might be why we haven’t heard anything as well. I’d expect Tonda and Spors are on holiday as well
