Interesting. Getting Spacey was an achievement by the club....and, from her point of view, an exciting time to join a club that is seriously investing in the women's side for the first time. Although (just like the boy's side) only a few will make it professionally, the girls will benefit from having an interest in something other than the purely frivolous...leading to an increase in confidence and character development. And it will look good on a CV...always good to have something to catch an employer's eye, so they will be more likely to get job interviews.....that won't be high on a youngster's thoughts as their focus will be on football, but helpful to be seen as a team player in the real world.

The Under 23s face Basingstoke in the semi-final of the Hampshire Cup tonight....and face Dinamo Zagreb I the semi-final of the International Cup on 10th April.

Basingstoke Town FC

An entertaining half comes to an end and the score is even at 2 - 2. @SamSmart98 and @YvanJourdan with early goals for #Basingstoke although @AdamEveriss has been dismissed for a handball on the goalline

Saints have signed a 16 year old striker from Birmingham according to the BBC and various other sources; Romello Mitchell. £300,000 in comp, plus highly sought after by the likes of Utd and Liverpool.

Peggy is reported to be "over the blahdy moon!", but Phil and Grant will take more convincing.
