Kamari Doyle has signed a professional contract with Southamton.
Hopefully he can push on, when was the last player from our academy who came through and “made” it? (eg played a significant amount of games)
Valery actually which isn’t that long ago, not sure who before him.
Valery was signed from a club in France when he was 16 or so wasn't he? if we're looking at coming through our academy we're looking at JWP.
It’s how you define it. Valery was signed as a scholar, played in our u18s, u23s and signed his first professional contract here. Does a college or a university not have a role in developing their students?
Poor lad, i remember Finnigan getting first team minutes a couple of pre seasons ago and was well regarded.
Whilst I don’t believe it’s correct that minors are offered thousands of pounds worth in football contracts, you can’t blame them for taking as much as they can as it’s a dangerous game and career paths can alter in an instant.
