The English in the article isn't great - it says we upped our offer to the club to reach an agreement with the player and his representatives, which doesn't make much sense. I took it to mean we upped our offer to the agent rather than the club, which would also fit with Lennon's comments about us making a new offer.

But upped our offer to the agents by £1.5m? Doesn't add up with what we've heard so far. All it's suggesting to me is that it's hogwash.

I have to admit I hadn't converted the currency and an increase of that amount does seem unlikely but numbers in articles are often rubbish and it doesn't mean the article is wrong about us upping our offer. Particularly as Lennon's comments suggested the same thing. It's not that big a deal and we may never know the truth.

I presume the new signing checklist is reaching its final tick...

1) Make Offer for player
2) Make another offer for player
3) Tell player agent to stop blabbing to the media about deal
4) Tell selling club to stop blabbing to the media about deal
5) Make the deal look like its collapsed
6) Laugh at fans on twitter and forums getting their knickers in a twist
7) Get the deal back on
8) Get the player on an easy-jet from wherever
9) Pass the brown envelopes round to all parties are satisfied
10) Get the player down for a medical
11) Pray to god he's not injured after all the proceeding hassle
12) Have him drive around New Forest Hotels and parts of Southampton to get seen
13) Get him to sign the paperwork in front of a fireplace
14) Get him into the photography studio
14) Try to make him look good in the new home kit
15) Fail with the above but carry on regardless
16) Find him a free Eterna watch
17) Someone's forgot the bloody watch
18) No one can find the sodding watch
19) Photoshop him wearing the watch
20) Tweet that he's signed
21) Get the usual quotes out about "being part of the exciting project" & "I have joined a big club with big ambitions"

I think the main problem is this idea of stop the selling club babbling about the sale, should
be changed to get the buying club to stop been so miserable and show faith in the new
player who has gave up the chance of playing real football Champions League, to
help to prop up the EPL

I'm sorry I don't have any idea what you're saying.

What a load of bollocks.

I always thought that was Hans Zimmer. Guess not. The more you know and all that.

Don't worry, you're not alone! Pretty sure he even referenced it in his blog

A notable example was "Trailer 3" of the 2010 movie Inception which included his composed piece "Mind Heist"; it is a common misconception that the piece for this trailer was composed by Hans Zimmer because Zimmer composed the official score for the movie itself.

I wouldn't necessarily say that, but player for player I don't see why there's any doubt that Wanyama is making a sensible move in terms of the quality of the sides.

The difference is is that he is going from a league where he is at the biggest club in that league to a perceived club in a bigger league

"Large fish in a small pond, and small fish in a big pond". Unfortunately due to anti growth hormones in the wee fishes wee, when it gets to a concentration it stunts the growth of any fish in a smaller pond from growing, a smaller fish in a big pond has a much larger potential to grow!!!! Celtic are unlikely to get any bigger. Unlike us who hopefully have a massive potential and ambition.
