What an idiot, bottom 6? He's obviously another ignorant fan that only pays any attention to the top 6 sides, not those who's have the ambition to get there. God help the rest of the premier league next season if he's going to be a pundit. Expect a lot more "<insert top six side> didn't play well" and "<insert bottom half side> were playing like i was a cup final".

He will be made welcome here, no problem.

by the vast majority, but no getting round it, if he has a couple of bad games, some bigoted idiots will use his transfer fee as an excuse to get on his back. Sadly seen/heard it too many times at SMS, some still living in the dark ages and not sure the club does enough to identify & get shot of them.

We finished 7th bottom last season, so that basic idea was wrong last year. With the addition of clubs like Palace and Hull, does he seriously expect us to finish below them?

He's always been thick though to be fair, that's why he works for the BBC. It seems the BBC have a policy of only employing thick, boring people.

John Hartson left Celtic for an (at the time) Championship club in West Brom, in so I'm not sure what he's moaning about. I know he was at a vastly different stage of his career but all his rubbish about adulation and attention for playing for such a big club is surely still relevant as he left Celtic for a non-top six side?

The only thing I remember him doing at WBA was giving Alex Ostlund a boot in the face.

We finished 14th - 6th bottom.

Wow that article was a terrible piece of writing, without even talking about the content. His, sentences are really short, have no flow and he has paragraphs which are a few words long!

I think Prof Brian Cox et al might have something to say about that!

Yeah that's 7th bottom. A job at the BBC beckons <laugh>

It's not exactly a defence but I doubt he actually writes the column himself.

Well they could start by reading some of the posts on the forum.

I meant BBC Sport, in particular Football, of course. I have nothing against poor Brian Cox.

They don't have a great set of pundits it's true. The ones on MOTD2 are generally much better than Shearer and Hansen for example, and Hartson and even Robbie Savage are included in that. They seem to be bringing more of them over into the main show with Pat Nevin having appeared on MOTD towards the end of last season I think, so hopefully we get to see more of them and less of the old boys' club.

This article brings some hope: http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/match-day-pundits-could-ditched-1982775

Least it carries on the tradition of a BBC pundit putting Saints down.
