I don't want to say just give them what they're asking as it's not a great negotiation tactic...
But if we spend half the window ****ing around here to not stump up it would be beyond ridiculous. If we know we're not gonna match Everton, just ****ing move on already.

Maybe the squad should go away and do something fun, like paintball. Though I fear none of them would actually be able to hit each other.
We sign Theo.....greatest thing since sliced bread.
Everton sign Theo....crap player and too expensive.

If he is off to Everton the good thing is they seem to get deals done quickly so we can move on to someone else. If they want a player they just put up the cash to get them and majority of their deals are done very quickly.
Have a feeling we will sign nobody in this window. Will hear the usual “tough window to buy in” , “couldn’t get our main targets” etc etc.

Love to be proved wrong, but we seem to miss out on our main targets after spending too long on them....then find that other reasonable targets are no longer available. And we don't have money to burn so can't risk spending on a possibly unsuitable player. We know we need a striker....the hardest position to fill....but apart from that I'm sure the board will think we are sufficiently covered that no risks are needed. So the window and season fizzles out.
Not really, I have not been a supporter of this move from day one and not really bothered as I don't rate the player Walcott has become over the past four years and think he would have been a very expensive mistake who would spend most of his time in the medical room
Not too fussed either way. Better out there for the money. Would have been nice for an old player to "come home" but Everton normally pay well over the odds to get deals done.
There probably is better out there for the money but it is whether:
1) They are actually available this window
2) They can hit the ground running if coming from a new league
3) They actually want to join us
Walcott appeared to tick these 3 boxes, and like has been said lots of times on this forum we are going to have to overpay for anyone this window because it is January, we are desperate and we have sold a player for £75m.
I don't really want Walcott but he definitely improves us, which is what we need, would give majority of the fan base a boost as he is "one of our own" and fans get too attached to the money side of things. He is probably the best/only player who really improves us this window that is currently playing in the PL, is available and would be interested in coming.
