Any chance we can keep the MP2 is crap comments to the various threads we already have for that and keep the transfer threads clear just in case something actually happens?

    Fair enough.

The point Fran was alluding to - and Black made it yesterday as well, was that Pellegrino got booed on Saturday for taking Hojbjerg off, when he was the guy who backed him in the first place - proof that Pellegrino can do no right.

I don’t agree mate. Hoedt came in, hit a couple of 40 hard cross field passes and was proclaimed the best thing since sliced Dutch centre backs. Someone (<whistle>) did raise a question about him at that point.... it was typical football fans (I changed that from Saints fans) instantly judging, this time on the positive.

Do you really think that a player can be really good for a couple of games mad then be bad because of a few weeks training? That doesn’t happen.

You’ve sort of answered your own question whilst hanging onto the wheels of the shaky wagon! I am not a believer that a Pellegrino is the man as stated several times, however let’s leave some of the mud to throw at him for other reasons :)

Ever since Alex’s performance at Old Trafford, I’ve been waiting for his first mistake and the crushing wave that will fall upon his shoulders from the stands. *

*although the first one might be down to training with Fraser :)

Laces, you have your anti-MP2 glasses on.

You don’t know that and none of us do. It might be Pierre it might be MP2. Best not to guess.

For what it’s worth. Pierre wanted to leave this summer. That I know from a family member.

SaintKitch, stop and breathe. There is not a single Saints fan happy now. There are a few who are still giving the manager time (not me on this occasion), but most want him gone.

Just because I think he is not good enough, does not stop me from Defending him when he gets blamed for everything that goes wrong when it isn’t all him.

No, I don’t know that, but I’m just saying he seems like that type of character. Granted, that’s speculation/opinion though.

Does anyone consider the possibility that Pierre-Emile was not thought ready for the first team by Claude Puel? He is still only 22 remember, which is very young for a DM in the Premier League. He had played intermittently in the Bundesliga for Bayern, Schalke, and Augsburg before he came to us, but maybe the Premier League takes longer to acclimatise to. Whatever the reasons, he is certainly ready now, and no, I have no idea why we’re discussing him on the Saint Theo! thread.

I hope you are breathing though. I'm 76 now, and have found it a handy habit. Now what was this thread about?

Ah yes. That young Theo chappy. I note Arsenal fans were very critical of his display against Forest. What do they expect? If he hardly ever plays he's going to look rusty. The question for any team taking him on is whether they are risking him staying rusty for too many games. BTW if Arsenal want rid of some of their second string players, would they like us to look after Welbeck until the end of the season?

If MP2 is responsible for Hoylejoyegberrgs form then why can’t he manage other players in the same way. Can he only manage 1 player at a time?

Fair play to Pellegrino for playing him but as far as I can see pEH is playing well and has taken his chance. The majority of the praise goes to the player I’m afraid.

Ok, can you prove it? Or, let’s flip this. It’s not MP2’s fault, it’s the players... he only picks them. Of course we can’t say that but equally it’s unfair to say it the other way.

I’m playing devils advocate here and only because I don’t think it’s rigjt to blame everything g on be fella and he must be given credit for the few things he has right

I’ll say again, in case people missed it, I’m not saying this because i rate Pellegrino. Right now I think he is out of his depth.

On the subject of Theo, the transfer fee will be more than we have ever spent on a single player and he's older than our normal sort of transfer so if we go for him then we have changed as club and maybe the Southampton way has become the West Ham way. I'm not saying this is a bad thing as I would love us to sign players of Theo's quality just saying its a change of direction from the club.

The emergance of Hojbjerg happened by chance. He was persistently overlooked by Pellegrino who favoured Romeu, Lemina and Davis and played only those three in central midfield before injuries and suspensions forced him to turn over to Hojbjerg.

I agree with the point you have made SK; it would be a change of policy but we are in desperate straights at this moment. We need a spark or a catalist get get us moving forward. One player on his own is not going to change our season by what he does on the pitch; its about what he does to those around him. That stimulus is not going to come from MP2 - that certainly is a given. So l hope it happens but am not convinced its going to; not convinced the intent is there from The Board - this based on the failings of LR over the past two seasons to address this problem.

You're a kinder person to MP than I am.

None of us know what happens on the training field, but based on what we can see with our own eyes, all I see is a manager who was forced into playing PEH against Everton due to a lack of other options.

That’s a little like saying MP1 is **** as he only played Kane by chance...
