No, no and no again, FLT.

We should just spend the money really quickly once we've sold a player, just buy someone, even if they aren't our preferred target.

Waiting until late in the window to secure our number one target and break our transfer record? Pffft. No ambition in that.

Should've bought some other random player weeks ago and forgotten all about the fact we could still sort out a deal for Boufal.

Whilst agreeing that our fans do often moan too much, there is actually a lot of merit in getting business done early.

As a club that finished just 3 points from a top 4 finish, we should be keenly aware that small margins can help. Who knows what those two dropped points against Watford may mean at the end of the season?

Not always going to be possible though, unfortunately.

I know. Not for a club that avoids overspending, anyway.

You have to pay a premium to get transfers done quickly.

Seems we're concentrating on landing out A targets. That's just sometimes going to take time, and yes, I think the prudently getting it done approach is the right one, rather than just chucking 30m at it to get it done.

We also have to remember that our lying strawberry blonde fat manager left us at the end of the season. This meant that we had to divert some resource to finding and negotiating a replacement and then decide if we should push ahead with targets or sit and wait for the new manager to be involved. All takes time.
