I can't see how Boro could be in a position to demand such a relatively high price. Loosing money hand over fist and wont be going up any time soon. For £6m I would expect some top flight experience. Didn't we have the 2nd best defensive records in that division? I would expect an obvious improvement if we were to pay £4m over Jos of Jose's (probable) market value.

Ermmmm, I don't *really* rate him. I think he's solid, he'll do a job but far from spectacular. He's a reliable, Matt Holland kind of player.

I just thought we would've gone for a more accomplished CB as this is the biggest league in the world, and survival is key this season.
