Or maybe it's because they're telling the truth... <doh>
    Your opinion.

I'm not going to deny that I would've proffered British players, I get sick of all the players coming from abroad on massive wages supposedly meant to be the 'next big thing'.

That's why I wasn't so keen on Ramirez when first heard about him, but that's another story.

I never denied saying it before, I didn't remember thought given that that was was over two months ago and things have moved on since then.

If we were in the Championship I would gladly say great signing, but we need players that can make an instant impact and have the experience to cope with this league.

Now can you move on to interrogating someone else rather than me, because this really is becoming a pathetic obsession with me now...!

I said earlier I didn't have a problem with you (Bet you look in my history for that ;) ). So take it on the chin, accept it and move on.

I don't plan on coming on forums simply to be slated for giving an opinion and abuse which I seem to be getting more than enough from some people.

Wasn't there a rumour floating around that Kana-Biyik would cost 8mil euros? £6 million is about 7.5 mil in euros so for the extra couple of hundred k surely it would be worth possibly pursuing Kana-Biyik.

Anyway I don't know much about Williams, except that he is highly rated at Boro who have a good record at bringing players through, so if he signs I will be happy to trust NA

Biyak was a rumour from, maybe a month ago.

    Seemed highly rated.

Don't really know enough about him to comment.

Think as you say he was valued at around £6/7m.

Yeah that rumour came up again recently. There was never a report of it being accepted though so who knows... either way like I said because of the injury thing, I don't think we'll sign Williams. Could be this year's Liam Fontaine!

The problem with signing players who have proved they can do it in this league is they cost a hell of a lot more because they have proven that they can cut it. WWe have a good scouting team and we will have to trust their judgement on the players they identify as targets from other leagues. I would rather get players highly rated in their current league for less money than getting players who are proven to some extent in the Prem for more money.

he isn't good enough to get in the side so 6m would be way too much for a cb unproven at this level

Fair enough. I've made my point in any case. I'm not gonna rise to the childish jibes in there. Made my feelings perfectly clear.

Evidenced what I said and why I said it.

We move on. Back to Rhys Williams and defenders then.

    Very true SaintMagic.

At least you have backed up your opinion.

Some people just try and point score and it really isn't worth it.

    Doesn't affect me lol.

I was keen on Matt Phillips and Curtis Davies because they were proven in the Championship, Davies played in the Prem before.

Don't know as much about Williams, no a few bits but not a lot.

Right, have to disagree again here. You'd rather a top Championship player who hasn't cut it as a regular Premier League player despite being there earlier in his career and failing to stay there either with his current club or via a transfer, than a top Championship player who is younger and has not had the chance to test himself at Premier League level yet?

I think with the right players around him he could maybe once again improve.

He has had a hot of experience and think that he's still at a reasonable age so could still improve. :)

Does anyone rate him as a good premier league CB, capable of coping with top strikers every week? I don't know much about him. Is he the lad who should have been sent off at Boro last season for hauling down Lallana?

    No that was Seb Hines.

I rate Williams, but I doubt we'll get him. Seems like his injury might be a problem, and I think Boro would want more money for him. We'll see.

FLT - exaxtly my point, he doesn't appear on anyone's radar despite us having played against him last year
Also he wasn't picked for the Champ Team of the year like most of our other signings!?!?!?!

Why are people who have never seen him play saying he wouldn't be a good signing? That's not an opinion, it's guesswork/stupidity.
