This seems like the beginning of a great idea. We could actually do this. "Interview Cliche Bingo" thread anyone?
Summary of Krueger's thoughts (from Sky Sports News): - No disappointment in Mauricio leaving. Club is in a good place. - When we had a change of leadership in January, we knew that this was the likely outcome - The club did everything they could to persuade him to stay, including offering new contract - New manager will have to match our vision, ambition, but also have to back it up - Les Reed is 'as experienced as they come' and has been 'inundated' with applications from high class managers across Europe - There is no set formula on appointing a new manager, but we hope to do it soon and correctly - On player sales: Everything will be conducted on our terms. We are in a position where our top players have long-term contracts. - If transfers do happen (players leaving), then we will decide when they happen in the best interests of the club - We have a list of players who we want to bring to the 'organisation'
Don't want to do sales at the best time for the club....don't want to do them...unless he means in 5 years time.
I'll have a think about how it could work. Though if anyone else wants to take the idea under their wing and has good ideas, go for it, because I don't create a lot of new threads and I don't entirely trust myself to follow through.
A few of you are beginning to make personal comments to each other. Just be aware that the mods are aware and if it doesn't cease action will be taken to stop it. We are supposed to be adults on this forum and every person has a right to an opinion and to post that opinion. No matter how many times. If you start to insult one another then the mods will be involved. Two or three people holding a thread to ransom with just their own views start to annoy other posters. We start to get complaints in either directly or through the admin team. If we the mods do not take action the admin team will. This is a bloody good Forum for Saints fans and the mods are not going to let it be ruined by just a few that do not know how to debate without getting personal
Best part of three decades and I've never seen a moose in person. Even at the damned moose-filled game preserve, didn't see a moose. Interesting, though largely confirmation of what most thought. So, they're going then.
Apologies if already posted but anyone seen the Yakin pics from @beardedgenius on twitter? cracked me up https://twitter.com/BeardedGenius/status/471557097747144705 and others https://twitter.com/BeardedGenius
On a serious, and much more positive note, I'm sure what Ralph said about Reed being "inundated" with applications is true. It would be a great proposition for a lot of top managers out there.
I want them to spend a lot of time getting the right person in...he must be exciting, inspiring, a big name, known for fast-paced football, Spanish speaking and good looking if possible. I will give them till 4.00 tomorrow afternoon.

Maybe. But what can Reed do about it? Assume for a moment that MP was a Cortese guy. Cortese then was basically fired because his vision did not square with the Board's vision. At that point, it becomes a huge uphill battle to sell MP on your vision. You know he pretty much disagrees. There's no reason for MP though, to just go and start being a jerk. He knows he can force a move this summer, so why not at least hear Reed out and keep the options open. Unlikely he'll change your mind, but maybe he does. Besides, looking like a jerk doesn't exactly help his future employment prospects. And probably MP isn't really a jerk, he's just not really into Saints very much. For Reed, there's no point in bullying MP since he holds a lot of the cards. If you're trying to convince someone, you have to be nice to them. To the extent that either of them openly disagreed or butted heads at a meeting, there's no reason for either of them to reveal it publicly anyway. Since that only makes them both look bad. So no, I don't think Reed was necessarily naive. It pretty much had to play out that way, with both sides going through the motions and listening politely to each other and not getting into a pissing contest especially not publicly and no one really changing the other side's mind.
The beaded necklace in the picture with the three women really makes the look. Is he a football manager? Is he a 50 year old female horticulturalist? Who knows; that's the mystery of Yakin. As for the talk of Reed/Poch conspiring on their plans, I'd imagine that was largely PR work in case Poch decided to stay. Sounds very much like everyone involved expected him to be off from the time Cortese left, but you can't exactly announce that, especially if there's a slim hope he'll change his mind.
As said, it was a possibility that he would leave when Nicola did...he decided to finish the season (I believe Nicola asked him to), but that doesn't mean that he didn't lead them on to believe he might stay. Offered a better contract, he said there was no rush. They probably hoped he would agree to stay and he may very well have done so if Spurs didn't come along as he wanted to stay in the EPL.
I know the answer is on the forum somewhere but how do i get to see the pics people post on here, i just get ...
