There's a rule in La Liga that you have to have a certain amount of capital to compete. This is supposedly so that clubs don't bankrupt themselves. Being a tiny club, Eibar doesn't have the funds. They need to raise an extra 1.7 million Euros simply to be eligible to play. It doesn't matter that Eibar has no debt, that they finished in the black this year, and they have no intent to spend an extra 1.7 million Euros. What's even stupider is that the amount of capital you need to compete is tied to the amount of SPENDING by the other teams. In other words, because half the clubs in Spain spend like idiots and are nearly bankrupt that actually *raises* the amount that Eibar has to raise. They are basically being punished because other clubs run massive debts while they spend within their meager means. What's worse is the rule applies not just to La Liga but the Segunda Division as well. Meaning that not only will Eibar not get promoted and play in La Liga, they're actually going to get relegated from Segunda Division to Segunda Division B. It's beyond stupid.
@SimonPeach: #SaintsFC keen not to appoint another manager without a decent grasp of English, which would suggest a move for Murat Yakin is a no-goer.
