You'll always hear good stuff coming out like this when an appointment is made.

Not saying they're wrong of course, just I'm gonna wait to see how he gets on during the season.

Excited that I'll be at the first game.

Which is why we've had 5 managers in 6 years? They've all done well for us to be fair.

Regardless, great to have a manager once again. His comments about unity and team on and off the pitch seem rather pointed. I'd rather be hearing whats right about him instead of what was wrong with the last one but perhaps thats the same thing. If Claude had succeeded in the personality competition he'd still have a job.

His record doesn't say much for him so I think MP has a lot to prove. Looking forward to a new season and the start of the annual new era.

“We firmly believe Mauricio is the right person to help us take the next steps. He knows our current players and believes we have a great squad that with some fine-tuning will be able to deliver continued success.

Do we really, Les? Not sure I agree but at least I now have my expectations for player ins n outs properly set.

As with all of our appointments, I will fully back the new man and I hope for his sake that he keeps us in the top ten otherwise our stupid, self entitled fans will get on his back and we will have yet another new manager next season.

Welcome Mauricio and the very best of luck.

My kids have started work on a chant - starts alright but then loses its way a bit.

'He's called Pellegrino, he's mates with Pochettino, la la la la, la la la la

He comes from Argentina, he likes to drink ribena, la la la la, la la la la'

I think we can file it under work in progress.

The ribena bit should stay for sure. Potential sponsorship deal there.

Being a mate of Pochettino - not so happy about that.

Yes I think we do. Need a CB, CDM and CAM and we have a good squad, providing no one leaves, then they will be replaced etc.

Great squad is somewhat of a stretch. If we want mid table it's a fantastic squad but if our sights are any higher then it's nowhere near great at the minute.
