As this was in a transfer thread and I hadn't had my first cuppa, I actually assumed that Partial (pronounced Parshial of course) was a player joining a French club called Merlot.

Blimey . In all seriousness , have you thought about medication ? I am on allopurinol for life , still have to be careful though , I have not had an attack for years .

Absolutely. I told a friend who had gout about Fats and she said, 'Why isn't he on meds. It's bloody agony.'
You still have to be sensible , but touch wood I have not had an attack in many years .
Had blood tests yesterday and will be on allopurinol once this attack stops.... you need the attack to be stopped before you start taking them apparently.

Cheers... as long as I can have a couple of glasses of good wine now and again, I’ll be happy!
A mate of mine is on allopurinol and drinks Amstel lager like his life depended on it. I wouldn’t recommend that, but anything in moderation is OK, even occasional red meat I believe.
Red meat is far worse than alcohol as far as your purine metabolism is concerned!
Flew back to Dubai News Years Day: started in the airport lounge and continued through the flight: its free!

I had a trial with them. It didn't really work out, but ended up playing for Italian club Valpolicella throughout my 20s.
