I appreciate that was tongue in cheek but we should not forget everyone saw the move as right for the player and the club. He was going nowhere with us and a change in manager would not have helped given his downbeat mood. We all hoped the move would revitalise his career and should be delighted for him. The increase in prices makes it inevitable that every decent player sets a new record.
