But as I understand it, the majority would rather keep topical threads on topic and then have other OT threads (sticky or not) for OT discussion. That's perfectly reasonable and.....sensible.

Threads like this go off topic all the time on any football forum.

if there was an update, we'd talk about the update

Absolutely, but why flood a thread supposedly about a topic with OT stuff. Can we not start an OT thread about it if enough people are interested? My point stands that people see the pages building and then think there might be news about the titled topic itself......plus all this going back and forth with this argument on so very many threads must surely be getting tedious? (Not to mention spoiling what has been a really good forum about Saints).

So, are you suggesting I am miserable.

It is not reasonable for you to say this Dan, I happen to check the site maybe once or twice a day, so some of us may not be as uptodate with info as you and others on here. Hence why I look up specific threads to find the said news - not that I cant be bothered.

So, I dont believe it was necessary to imply I am miserable for my views on the constant flounding of forum manners, of which I do not believe you have.

If you're in a hurry to find news why on earth would you go to a forum as the number one option? But yes, you seem fairly miserable with the forum not being up to your standards.

Mate sometimes I can't be bothered to trawl through a load of pages to find out what's going on, so I just make a quick post asking for someone to explain it to me. Within seconds, someone replies. It certainly takes a whole lot less time than it's taking you to bitch at everyone.

Fair enough, perhaps I'm a fantasist. I'm just saying that I understand Billy's frustration, if not perhaps his way of voicing it - as he says, there are plenty of people who might only check the site a couple of times a day and could do without the "wheat from chaff" process......

Dan, did I say this forum is my No 1 option?

There are many other sources but there are also good pieces of info on here, DTLW for example is usually pretty good with info, as are you to be fair.

But this still doesnt excuse the fact of what happens on here, does it.

Are there no other places on the Saints forum that you guys can have off topic chats. I thought so too.

But then Joe in fairness the response is very often along the lines of "For God's sake, there's a thread about this you know"........

Trawling through threads to find things of value is part-and-parcel of football forums that allow massive threads. For example, take the "HCDAJFU" thread that always pops up on Saintsweb every transfer window.

Not really, but it's being worked on. Until then, just do what Joe suggested and ask someone for a quick review. That way you get it all summed up and it's actually better than trying to piece together all the broken English articles.
