Beyond the players themselves, it's what has made this transfer window so exciting...Cortese is clearly demonstrating that his talk of competing with the top teams in England isn't a marketing ploy. If/when Ramirez signs, we'll have acquired several players whose best days are ahead of them, players who aren't stop-gaps to ensure that the team stays up, but pieces that could drive this club to much greater heights. It's a somewhat risky strategy (we have to be one of the youngest, if not the youngest, squads in the Prem) but it's pretty clear that the ambition is very real. Said it several times before, but Cortese is a madman, and I love it.
Mad and brilliant. I just don't think he entertains the concept of failure. We're one hell of a lucky bunch to have got the Liebherr/Cortese partnership on board, no matter what certain offspring of Le Tiss may say......
Tancredi Palmeri will be on Talksport at 2.45 this morning to talk about transfers, if anyone is still up then.
Will just be repeating what he's already said on his twitter - Gaston Ramirez has signed on a 4-year deal and will be announced officially tomorrow.
He likes you tease people, you know...あなたは愚かな少年です
Almost definitely signing tomorrow. Certain people (can't remember who) are saying it's already done, but not announced yet. If I'm getting that right.
Couple of reports from Uruguay that Liverpool had hijacked but then loads of reports from reliable Italian journalists, including Tancredi Palmeri and Gianluca de Marzio saying the deal has been completed. So, it's looking pretty good. Palmeri on Talksport in quarter of an hour, he'll probably bring it up.
Yeah the report isn't live, its a recording. Heard it earlier, we've stopped our pursuit of him as Adkins feels Chaplow is a better option
Thank god, I thought Adkins forgot about him. Thought it was a bit strange too when we have one of Europe's best wingers in Steve.
