Arsenal in for him?

Don't relieve that for one second. He doesn't strike me as their type or being of interest.

Think it's just Italian media realising he would consider the Premier League, and London in particular, and that they are a London club after a striker after being knocked back on other options. Just making a story.

I've got a good feeling about this one at current.

I too feel it's just an agent/news fabrication. I hope it is, too - if Arsenal came in for him we'd stand not a chance in hell

Surely we wouldn't keep going in for him if we didn't believe we couldn't offer him something to lure him to St Mary's? Surely?

I think maybe there is confusion on his role at Roma. Totti plays the lambert role with Osvaldo and Lamela coming in from either flank in support. So I think although Osvaldo (and J Rod) give us another option if Lambert is injured or off form, I think you will find that if Osvaldo signs and if he is selected to play, it will be in place of Ads or J Rod
Not sure this is accurate. My understanding of how Roma play is that Totti is number 10 behind Osvaldo who operates as a central striker. Maybe he would be effective wide but that's not his position currently.

Yeah that's what I've seen too. I think it's plausible that Lambert could be his new Totti.

TRANSLATION

"The Southampton has raised an incredible pressure in regard to Pablo Daniel Osvaldo. Roma are attributed to the attacker's other clubs, but it's been days since we speak of Southampton, including the formal written offer yesterday and that implies the willingness to close. In the last hours frantic contacts between the coach Pochettino and Osvaldo: know each other well from the days of 'Espanyol, there is mutual respect. And so the Southampton hopes to cap off a long chase."

Likewise. I think the direct contact with Pochettino will go a long way.

This looks like Pochettino's moment to show us that he is a bigger pull in the transfer market like we were hoping he would be. Still very surprised that we haven't bought anyone from Spain. Anyway, fingers crossed.

If this deal goes through and then when it does so.. i could see a couple of others being interrsted in our club a lot more. For example.. Banega

Someone is piling their money on, let's just hope it's someone ITK, and not just us mugs!

Hope it goes through for obvious reasons, but as Downthe36 has suggested, I wouldn't be drawing too much info from the price movements of the said bookmaker on this (or any transfer/specials) market.
Yes, the price has moved, but they'll have very small limits on the size of bet they'd accept on a market like this. Being an internet only firm also they'll have a book that's within +/- £2k on a market like this. It's not gonna make a big difference to their profits at the end of the day, and is probably only offered as a customer service to generate interest rather than an expected money maker. They've got other products for that.

Yes, but they know that he works them like dogs. The Saints team look more like greyhounds (or whippets in the case of Isgrove) every time I see them. The deadline rumour may suggest we have another target if Osvaldo falls through (hopefully).
