This signing doesn't get me particularly excited. Hopefully the big Dutch legend knows what he's doing. I'm sure our coaching team have magic full-back dust anyway, as they all turn out quality. So we can just use that

From the way RK was describing the deal, it sounds very much like a cover/squad option.

He's Curacao international, that's got to be worth something. They wouldn't call him for their national team if he was ****e, right?

Err, have you checked out Curacao international team and their record....maybe not a good basis of assumption - but I have faith in the black box and the team working behind it. A squad rotation player and a utility defender for only 3M. Happy.

I'm a Twente fan myself, but to be honest he isn't even good enough for back-up defender in our defense (and that says a lot). I cannot understand why southampton would want to buy a player of his kaliber. Rumours say it's a 4 million euro deal, which would be a huge profit for Twente, who bought him for 400K euro's.

Me and my friends call him Cuco the Clown because he thinks he is cristiano ronaldo. He runs forward with the ball, acting all cool, tries some moves and always looses the ball.

Strange signing, but brilliant for Twente who really need the money.

Shamelessly stolen from another forum as I went to have a look as I have never heard of him. Doesn't sound too promising but will wait and see what he can do before judging him

He's depth, I guess, but unless Soares grows by leaps and bounds we look weaker with our two RBs now than we did with one a year ago.

Ill be honest, I don't know a lot about the guy, but we do seem to have some magical formula with Full Backs of late. Would expect Soares to be our first choice right back mind.

Pretty uninspired so far this transfer window and this fella isn't lifting my mood
Hello! Earth to Dark Lord SFC! Not all the signings this summer are going to be big names. We need a bigger squad as we're in Europe and some people we sign will be back ups and this is one. As far as I'm concerned every signing we make is a positive because it increases our squad size which is vital if we're to have a successful season. I'm not sure who you expected as a back up right back - Dani Alves? Carvajal? Ivanovic?

I was hoping we might consider signing first team players to help us improve not "squad players". Incoming players that push last years first teasers and potentially replace them is what I am looking for to continue our development.
Adding cheap foreign players just blocks the path for our youth players
Still time to get in some better players so I am still hopeful of a smile this summer...LOL

It is day 6 of the transfer window. Have patience.

Well our two main incoming players so far fit that description in fairness.

young player, good with the ball, can play across the back line for 1.5 mil surely worth a pint. 2 year contract abit strange though

They are only blocking the route for our own youth players, if our own are ready for the first team.
Maybe Ron thinks they need another year, or even 6 months, before being dangled in front of the "big clubs".
