The only time I talk about Sagbo is when his 'fans' try to convince me that he 'just needs a chance' and he'll come good.
He (sadly for us) went to the same "School for Strikers" as Daniel Cousin, Jay Simpson, Jozy Altidore, Danny Graham and Nick Proschwitz.
He couldn't find the back of the net with Satellite Navigation.

I don't think anyone on here has said that he will score goals. All people have said is that he would currently help the team and numbers. And before jelavic and long came last year he was playing very well, albeit never lookin like scoring but his hold up play and link up play was excellent.

If Sagbo pulls on a Hull City shirt I will be cheering for him and the rest of the team as they will be giving their all. Some are a little better than others. Some stand out and make the MOM top 3 game after game. Sometimes they have an absolute shocker of a game whilst at other times they are match winners. Steve Bruce and his selection/tactical team know more than anyone what is needed regarding changes for each game we play. We are a noodle short of a stir fry up front but what have we got to solve this problem? People are talking about Brady, Aluko and Ben Arfa being played up front but surely you don't think that Steve and his team haven't also weighed up this situation and decided that it wouldn't work.
Sagbo just hasn't got it at this level. Aluko is a 'bound-for-glory' player. Ben Arfa has only one leg.
Only one more game and Jelly should be back but I believe we have learned a lesson from this and will have to strengthen in the January window but some players will have to be off-loaded and I think Sagbo and Aluko will be first. Just my opinion and I know there will be plenty who have a different one.

I think Sagbo and Hernandez would make a very good partnership.

Well, I'm sorry Mr Hat but Steve Bruce doesn't agree with you and I'll accept his decision rather than yours.

Without Sagbo we wouldn't have even got past Brighton.

The shock of being loaned out to a Championship club could be what Sagbo needed.

He came from a French second tier team (if I remember right) and probably thought he was a bit special when the Premier League came calling.

Now he knows he will have to work his bollocks off to have any chance here and hopefully he will.

If this ^^^^ is true then what does that make you then ? Wummer of the year maybe ?

Agreed ^^^^ this. Sagbo holds the ball up well but also can be very lazy. Sagbo has to put up or shut up imo.

Cousin scored some decent goals for us, including the winner against Arsenal, he was a good striker. You're definition of what makes a good striker needs to expand further than "scores 30 goals a season". Their purpose is much more versatile than the traditional strikers that dominated your generation.

If Diame managed 20 goals with 15 assists from Hernandez, would you drop the latter because his goals contribution wasn't as high as a midfielders?

Cousin tended to only be really interested in the big games, but he was a handy player.

This post can go on the pet hates thread. Why ? Because this is a football forum, a place where people can listen to, and give their opinions on football (and fish). It's so weak of you to come out with the tired old "the manager knows more than you" ****. The manager certainly does know more about his team than the rest of us, but we (that includes you) feel passionately about the game,so we offer our our opinions and listen others. It's called a forum, Roo !

Anyway... you seem have a particulary strong interest in strikers. Were you one ?

YES! I went on strike a number of times when I was on the Asphalt Road Crew for better pay and conditions!

You are mixing me up with someone else as I NEVER said that. EVER!
The 'above average' strikers that dominated my generation were the old dribbling shoulder charge types like Nat Lofthouse, Tommy Lawton and 'Wor' Jackie Milburn. Body contact not being allowed these days has rang the death-knell on those types of players and we will never see the likes of them again. I understand your logic on present day football where a player has to be more versatile (Gawd, what would Viggo Jensen be worth these days - he could play anywhere) and that's all well and good but again, there are 'hold-up players' 'target men', 'lone strikers' and out-and-out' strikers. Your mate Sagbo is, sadly for us, neither of these and never will be. The Club has realized this and don't want him any more. Aluko is better than Sagbo yet can only get a few minutes at the end of a game if he's lucky.
And, if Diame scored 20 goals and fifteen of these were from Hernandez assists I would drop both of their pants and kiss their @rses. Twice!

Not on the bench today. He's going to be good for nothing to anybody. Not match fit, confidence shot away, and he must be hugely pissed off! Personally I think we should have him back if we can, we're not over-endowed in that striking/hold up department as we've seen with Jel out.

Whether he was on the bench or not, I don't think it would have made much difference losing 5-0 to Derby at the moment
