The wall doesn’t have doubts about something that has been proven extensively which could replace the current considerably less safe situation.
No it’s not been proven extensively, that’s the point! No trials in the top two leagues, maybe you’ll have a better case if it ever gets that far but don’t hold your breath.

I think we’ll have to agree to disagree. Going to go and shout at a brick wall instead <ok>
Got to say I agree with you on this. I used to love the terraces and feel that in these days of all ticket games, the numbers allowed into these areas can be better controlled.

As you say, in the dark ages. In case you hadn't noticed, times move on.

Sorry to ruin another assumption on your part, but I attend matches both home and away. Stamford Bridge is a stadium I have attended, where the home fans are often allowed to stand while the away fans are forced to sit down by over zealous stewards. Now that's an oxymoron for you.
Not making any assumptions, if you like standing then by all means do so, in pubs, trains, buses, living rooms where ever you like, why not try the cinema? I definately know times move on, and the standing stadiums of the past are gone, or didn't you notice ? When Team buses are replaced once again with horses and carriages, then perhaps standing will make a comeback ? Until then, take a seat, make your self comfortable and enjoy the game.

Nobody is suggesting clubs rip out every seat and make everyone stand. It's a SAFE standing AREA, where people who like to generate a bit of atmosphere at the football can safely do so. These areas are built totally different to the terraces back in the day.

The Bundesliga and Celtic seem to cope just fine with safe standing areas.

ALBION's hopes of introducing a safe-standing section at The Hawthorns have been rejected by the Government.

The Baggies had offered to run a pilot scheme in the Smethwick End for both home and away fans and made a formal application in October 2017 to install the section this summer in readiness for the 2018/19 campaign.

But Tracey Crouch MP, the Minister for Sport, has ruled out the idea confirming there are no plans to change the all-seater policy at football stadia.

The decision has been described as both "surprising" and "disappointing" by the man who has led Albion's initiative, Director of Operations Mark Miles, who has written back to the Sports Grounds Safety Authority urging a review.

Given the trouble on the terraces in days of olde I can’t, honestly, see any Government yielding to demands for ‘safe standing’ in the top two divisions.

................or to paraphrase "...take a seat, make your self comfortable and enjoy your prawn sandwiches". No thank you, I'm a proper football fan.

That's because there is no logic.in his argument.
How anybody could even think that standing generates more atmosphere needs medical attention. EOTD it isn’t going to happen anytime soon so get over yourselves and stop your pointless sabre rattling.

Or to re-paraphrase, " Stand up if you're a backwards thinker and resort to personal slights when you can't make a proper argument.'.
You know nothing about me mate, so don't come the "I'm a proper supporter and you're not" bollocks.

Have you been to a match with standing recently, Ginge? Are you still in Thailand?

Yes I am and yes I do but we are only talking at the most 1800 fans. Needless to say football stirs a passion in fans which is nothing short of tribal and there has been trouble with fans fighting here also but not in the ground. But the Thai sports minister is under fire for flares being set of in a 2-0 win over Indonesia in the Suszuki cup final.

They also have a group called the Thai Ultras which plan trouble so these problems are world-wide. I firmly believe it will not and should not happen because thuggery hasn’t really gone away from football also any standing areas would need money spent by clubs and logic dictates these if ever it were allowed would have to be right at the rear of the stadium as not to impinge on the view of seated fans.

What’s the betting on both being Remoaners?
