Oh ****. If it kicked off in the Suzuki Cup you may have a point.

Why 1800? Celtic have 2900 and it works well and is popular. Have a read if you fancy: https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/football-indepth/safe-standing-match-day-experience-celtic/

You’re still equating having safe terracing with a rise in hooliganism which still makes no logical sense at all.

Thailand essentially is a poor country where only the ruling elite and army have the real money. They wouldn’t waste money on such a project, life is cheap here.
Because something looks logical doesn’t mean it actually is. If it were that simple why are the authorities saying no?

That's why the whole thing is bollocks, it's a metal bar/railing between each line of seats that can/maybe be clipped down. And for what? So some Neanderthal berks can go back to the 90's. Get Over It.

You pay for a seat, sit or go watch non league football, your choice if standing is your thing.

People sitting down because they have a little plastic seat doesn’t happen.

The facts are on my side, no matter how many toys you throw around.

More bragging and insults instead of arguments. Can someone wake me when this ridiculous ping pong nonsense is over??
All those who want to stand, go ahead and stand , I'm sitting so a bunch of toss pots aren't yelling and shoving me all over the shop.

CP, I don’t know what you found insulting about that post.

Again, no one is proposing taking away all or even most seats. If you want to sit down there would still be lots of seats. I don’t know how much clearer this can be.

It's the same talk that's used with 'Remoaners' (Brexit) You have to concede to their flawed logic otherwise the vitriol starts. Just seems that the minority what the majority say, isn't that sad?

Don't have to get over anything, just expressing an opinion as a match going supporter. <ok>

And your opinion is valued, it seems others don't want to accept that. <ok>

That's interesting as my own experience at Stamford Bridge is often the opposite. The Stewards often don't want to get involved with trying to keep the rowdy away fans in check and I've often been told to sit down by a steward when the whole away end is still standing and stewards are doing nothing.

I like the idea of safe standing areas if done safely and properly. I suspect Hillsborough is still too fresh though for any government to want to go near it.

A lot of the problems with the terraces have stemmed from more people being in these areas than was safe (people jumping fences, sneaking in etc). In modern stadia and with proper turnstiles and a proper standing place, I don't see the issue.

Agreed. Stewards at your place have been very happy to allow standing in both tiers when I’ve been even in the front row.

We won that night too, in case you were going to ask. 1-0.
