The charge is still outstanding on Madrox when I've just checked and these documents doing the round are on Sunderland AFC and have the lender down as Ffp which is wrong

Not at all, the payment would've been arranged weeks ago.

The EFL checks were completed weeks ago.

The script was typed for the announcement a fortnight ago and that is a fact.

Unless there's another appointment, not already arranged, there's nothing left to do ...

... except bloody well announce it.

Keeping various private matters private was a little problem. So even down to getting some papers/documents/declarations etc printed in a secure way was a hassle. That has obviously been overcome.
