If they have the new sporting director and manager positions sorted, and the manager reports to the sporting director, perhaps the new sporting director was involved in choosing the new manager?

Would make massive sense, and would be totally un-Sunderland like <laugh>

Aye okay. It's because no owners of league clubs can see beyond their own non-league bias that means the Cowley lads are still out work. Makes sense like after the cracking job they done at Huddersfield. I mean, why judge them on work they have done when you can use an irrational bias instead.
I totally agree. After 11 seasons of constant success and rapid progression up the football pyramid, only an idiot would judge them on one season.

Must admit this is where I am with it.
We’d all prefer it it Donald and Methven had no involvement moving forward but I just can’t believe that KLD would be prepared to get involved and then having to play second fiddle to them two clowns.
Think we can put up with them still being minor shareholders if the new regime, Sporting Director is the key role, come in and set out a blueprint for the future that passes
muster, giving us a clear identity that we can all buy into.
I’m certainly not prepared to be dragged down by some of the mood hoovers, pretty much writing the take over off because there is a possibility CM and SD might stay involved.
Nobody knows the way the structure will look but, as ever, some would prefer to see the worst scenario rather than give the best scenario a chance.

Few other names to consider, which haven’t been mentioned

Laurent Blanc
Quique Flores
Klinsman
Marco Silva
David Wagner
Paulo Souza
Phillip Cocu
Dwight Yorke - mentioned previously he’d fancy a crack at it
Gary Monk

Big Sam as DoF and Kevin Phillips as manager. That would peoples attention.

Sam could guide / give advice as needed.

3 of our next 5 games are against the current bottom 3 and 5 of our next 7 games are at home. We couldn't allow Parkinson to waste those games so this is the news we all wanted. He should have gone after the MK Dons defeat but I had a feeling he'd get the Doncaster and Fleetwood games to see if he could turn things around. He failed as a manager in both those games and has rightly lost his job.

This next appointment will be telling.

He's got teams out of the Championship
Yes I agree but that would be it I think. You are then looking to replace him after that. I just think new owners director of football, not sure Pearson would work with one new beginning time to think outside the box. The main thing is parky has gone. Time to sit back and enjoy the next week or 2.
