I'd say there is the world of difference between a footballer being sold with a sell on and Donald's situation.

A footballer needs to have excelled to get an improving transfer and he must excel again if he is to get another move which would trigger any sell on clause.

Donald on the other hand has been a disaster as an owner, bought most of the club with borrowed money, and if the club goes forward under a new and competent owner, then his role will likely be zero. He will be doing nothing to get any extra money.

Donald has the right to sell or not to sell, and to whomever he sees fit. But he has no moral claim to a reward for any future improvement. If I were him, I'd be careful if he is tempted to take the water out of much bigger boys than him. He might find they don't like it.

Bugger! Think I've replied to the wrong post there!

I think you have mate as you have just agreed with me but in more detail :)

His tenure didn't finish there though did it?

You leave a hero or stick around long enough to become a villain.

Keane, Bruce, O'Neil, Di Cannot, Poyet and even allardyce.

If they'd left without collapsing, turning inept, into a mad fascist or ****ing corrupt, they'd be a great choice again.

But they all soiled their reputation in one way or another.

A cup run doesn't excuse the mess it became for me.

Ellis Short oversaw that cup run. I wouldn't ****ing have him back either.
Sorry just replying. Yeah I get your point i would rather we go for someone new tho totally. Fresh ideas a full new coaching staff too.

Just jumped on for a quick look. Anyone else get rumours of Michael Appleton of Lincoln replacing Parkinson? My whelm would be distinctly undered if that happened
Michael Appleton would be a fantastic appointment in my opinion. Really highly regarded at the clubs he’s been at.

I actually met him in a coffee shop in Shoreditch shorty after we appointed Jack Ross. I sat with him for a bit and he told me that he was on the verge of signing the contract to become our manager before Leicester suddenly pulled the plug as they wanted him to stay. Then we moved on and got Ross.

I got the impression he was very intelligent and talked brilliantly about football and how it should be approached to get a team promoted out of League One. He seemed disappointed to have not gotten a chance as our manager. Would love him here. Think he’d do well.

His name seems to have been mentioned a few times over a number of years.
I must admit that he wasn’t someone I’d have chosen myself as he has seemingly had a mixed career to date.
Better than Parkinson but that’s a subterranean bar.
Hope we have someone better in line but we’ll see.
