Just did some reading and we can also go 5% above, with financial penalties rather than points etc.
So that could be 125k towards wages between Jan and end of the season. So on a 6 month contract that could be 5k a week, surely that could get 1or 2 useful additions in on free transfers
I honestly think with a good manager if we bought a winger with pace, good central midfielder and a 20 goal a season striker we’d walk it.

Even with wage cap which I'll be honest o don't think is a bad thing I'd certainly be in favour of it in the premier League to stop such a lop sided system getting any worse.

We could always just do what we've been talking about doing for the last 10 years and buy young players who will grow and develop and as they get better they increase in value and most importantly the team gets better as well.

Was thinking what if Poyet became the DoF and not the manager, but brought his own men in, ones that he usually has with him. Maybe you could have someone like Phillips as the manager with somebody as his assistant and say Charlie oatway (who normally works in a Poyet set up) as first team coach. Like I say, was just a thought.

I'll say 1973 ...

... just to get us off to a good start.
Bloody hell smug have we not waited long enough , how long will it take us to get there , starting to sound like the kids when we took them on holiday . Think we should have a sweep ?

Contracts and EFL documentation 2/3 weeks away from coming to a conclusion. Progressing well. Nothing imminent on any announcement.

No truth in the Rich Energy claim apprently.

Good news. Although I fear that another 3 weeks of Parkinson could leave us too far behind the pack or with a squad morale so low that another season in this league is inevitable. I wish a managerial change from the incoming owners could be done with more immediacy.

Don’t know the legal aspects of cancelling players contracts but with the influx of money from the investment of the new owners I can see where you are coming from . Their are several players that we could afford to lose as long as we have players lined up to replace them .

As far as I know you're free to pay up any contracts you want, don't think the player has any say in it. Could be wrong.

Paying off players is something that crossed my mind.

We have upto 16 players out of contract in the summer.

If it was possible I'd pay Power, Graham and McLaughlin off who will all be in the last 6 months of their contracts.

Also Dobson, O'Brien and Grigg who will have 18 months left on their deals.

6 places freed up without really weakening the first team. Bring in 3 players under the age limit and 3 players over and split the 6 wages over those 3.
I think I agree with Grigg and McLaughlin and probably Graham. The others I’d like to see with a new boss first but I’m being kind to say OBrien I realise. Dobson I’d keep. The principle is right though.

Let's hope this one happens after the previous false dawns.
We need a complete reboot of the club from top to bottom.
Your updates are always appreciated.

This is my worry as well. 5 games up to and including 12th December when we play Lincoln away. Hopefully we have an early Christmas present and stay in touch with the top 2 :emoticon-0108-speec

So.. announcement.. we have one person saying 2/3 weeks and another saying within the next week.. why the big discrepancy??

different sources with different perspectives. We are never going to get a perfect roadmap. I’m just grateful they’re all broadly saying the same thing - ie it is getting done.

Christmas dinner should taste good this year
