I'll try and see if we can get clarification tomorrow about the whole "they pulled it after getting the list of questions" thing. As far as I am aware they get an agenda with broad themes on it (which wouldn't be a surprise to them). I haven't heard of any question list being sent to the club

RTG had a request as a sticky for people to send in questions to RAWA for the meeting.

Yeah, I know we were collating questions, but as far as I know the questions just went to RAWA and the committee were going to come up with a list of questions for the meeting from those sent in. I don't think that list was ever sent to the club though, as far as I know they just got sent an agenda. Like i say I'll ask the committee in the morning because it sounds a lot more cynical if they've seen the questions then pulled out!

I think one of the RAWA reps on RTG said they won't be sending the questions to the club in advance because it would just give them time to rehearse an answer.

I've painstakingly looked back through this thread to find a post about it because I remember it was the day of the Hull cup game. Here's a link that references it being close to going to the EFL:

Nice one. Tbf Barnes doesn't actually say it's gone to the EFL, just that it was close to doing so. So two months down the line from that and the latest we had was from the club saying we are still in exclusivity with a preferred buyer and it's advanced. That's been enough time for the EFL checks to be done so my guess is they have been after reading the club's statement earlier on.

Let me guess. The ITK's knew the meeting was gonna be cancelled "fits in with what they heard". "Seen an email from the seller". "Positive steps made" "just paperwork to sort" "few obstacles but nothing major" "still positive" "No reason to lie, could be done by the end of the month"

Jesus wept

To be fair, it does kind of "tie in" with what people have said. Some have suggested it's very close to going through (thinking of the email post in particular). Now the club are cancelling a meeting specifically due to the stage of the takeover. I know we have to take anything the club say with a truck load of salt, but if nothing happens they've just dug themselves a massive hole here. I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that some people on here are hearing bits and pieces. If it came out that nothing was ever happening then aye, it would suggest a lot of bollocks was being spouted, but that doesnt seem to be the case given the club are openly talking about it now.

I never claimed Barnes said it had gone to the EFL, simply that it was going. It was also more like 10 weeks ago than my original estimate of 6.

Maybe you're right though. Alternatively, there is no takeover and they just keep stringing it along and telling us it's getting closer and 'not much longer to go now.'

To be fair this is the first time the club have intimated that a sale is close. They wouldn't cancel and mention the stage of the takeover as a reason if they thought it would drag on for months. So this time they've put a bit of pressure on themselves. If more than a month goes by, RAWA will be asking them to reschedule the meeting and the fans will rightly expect a full update on the takeover they seemed to suggest was imminent. The RAWA statement touched on the fan support for further action. I think it's pretty obvious that if nothing happens this time then they've cried wolf one too many times and action will go ahead regardless. If there's no takeover they've made a massive mistake today.

Announced tomorrow by salma with Pamela anderson manning the lifeguard station on roker beach with Lopez giving noshes out the back of pizazz, Penelope Cruz will be ****ing off anybody wearing a retro top and billy storey will be getting rattled by a pineapple little Nicky style

Jim Rodwell mentioned on a previous official club podcast that a buyer was in a period of exclusivity and that he'd/they'd shown a proof of funds, also with the caveat that Covid had slowed it down.

I have no problems with RAWA, liked the response, but what's to protest when a "sale is close"? What is the smoking gun for us to think that it's bollocks? Another month?

Yeah Rodwell mentioned it but it was very vague in that you could be in exclusivity for months. This suggests a much more imminent takeover. As for the smoking gun, well like I say if they're cancelling the meeting I'd be thinking it must be at a late stage whereby it's certainly weeks rather than months. It'll be fairly hard to organise protests etc with no fans anyway so I'd probably say you could give it around about a month, but if it doesn't happen then you'd certainly have good reason to question the whole thing. At that point I'd expect to see things massively ramped up in terms of pressurising them. Many probably think we should be doing something earlier and they might be right, but certainly if RAWA have to try and rearrange the meeting with the same people in charge I imagine it would be the start of a very uncomfortable time for the owners

I just fear we're focussing too much over to stage left when over on the right they've just delayed the fans again. Maybe I'm too cynical.

Interesting and hopefully good times ahead.

Anyone else noticed that Parkinson’s looked a bit disinterested in post match interviews recently? It’s kind of his style anyway but I’ve noticed it more than normal.

he’s a lame duck and I think he already knows.

Yes,his demeanour has definately changed in the last couple of weeks,I remarked on it last week somewhere I think.
He knows he's not going to be part of our future, and that will transmit to the players, for sure.
Let's hope our form on the pitch doesn't get much worse whilst we're all waiting for this to get done.
